> 3 dayThis bag seems to be made of sturdy materials. It has a couple of basic pockets. A mesh pocket for a water bottle would have been nice. The real problem with this bag is that it has no shoulder strap. You HAVE TO hand carry it. You cant put it over your shoulder. Well, you can wear it as a backpack, but then it becomes awkward to carry.

> 3 daySeems like a sturdy product. I used it to transport a wicked edge knife sharpener and several GUARDED knives. Transporting them after sharpening was a problem as one knife cut right through the side of the bag and into my leg. Use some common sense when packing this bag and it should last you a very long time. The bag has no form of its own so it will take whatever shape you pack it with. This aspect makes for a very compact fold-up but it will be lacking if partially packed with heavy items.

Greater than one weekIts a surprisingly versatile piece of kit and Ive got lots of brilliant uses for it. First, you can squash it down and pack it into a larger suitcase. That way, on your return journey, you have the space for any souvenirs, gifts, or other shopping that took place while on your trip. Its also great as a weekend bag if youre used to packing light. And it also works as an everyday gym and work bag too. At 45 Litres, this may not be your big main suitcase but its still substantial and would work as carry-on luggage. Like any good duffel bag, the Osprey Daylite Duffle has a really strong shoulder strap with a padded handle you can velcro into place. But then it also has a rucksack or backpack option and the interchange is really quick. Theres no fumbling around or getting straps out of hidden compartments. The backpack option makes life easier when you need to go hands-free, such as when youre holding your passport and boarding card getting ready to board the plane. One of the things I really love about all Osprey products - and Ive tested loads of them by now - is the quality. The handles are strong, theyre well attached, theyre wide and theyre padded. Your hands are going to be comfortable if you need to pick up the bag from the side and if anyones rough with your luggage during transit, the handles will still be attached by the time the journeys over. Overall, this bag is for weekend breaks around town and family trips on the plane. And for that, its perfect. Its lightweight, really well made and pleasant to use.

Greater than one weekI got this bag during the raining season because it was flooding really bad in our area and I wanted to have something to use for emergency evacuation. I love this bag. Its super sturdy, lots of space, lots of pockets. The straps are comfortable to wear as a backpack. I love the clip rings to clip carbines to. I also used this on an airplane family trip and the measurements are perfect as a carry-on. Its also pretty water resistant. I spilt my coffee on it by accident and nothing got wet. The only thing I dont like is the side pocket for water bottles. Its at a horrible downward-angle so if youre wearing the bag as a backpack your thermos is going to slide right out. I honestly dont know why they made it that way (or why to even have one). Very happy I got this.

26-11-2024Here’s a picture of Duffel 30 next to Duffel 45, also next to a 17” laptop bag to get an idea of the relative size. Size 30 is great as a gym bag and as an airline carry-on that easily fits under the seat in front. This Size 40 is better for a weekend trip and to replace a small travel suitcase. What I love about these duffel bags is the versatility while at the same time they are light weight. The bags can be used as a backpack, and folded up nice and compact. While this series is not officially weatherproof, the fabric is pretty good at shedding rain, so I’m not worried about carrying this around during a rain storm. The 40 size bag is going to be useful to pack inside my main airplane luggage just in case I bring home more items from the trip and need more space on the return home. Since it folds so compact, I will throw it in my main luggage all the time “just in case.” The backpack straps also make it easier to get around the airport with lots of luggage.
