> 3 dayMy daughter didnt listen to me (to stop growing and stay age 8 forever) and became an adult. Then she had the gall to go off and get married (cant tell at 25 y.o. anything). Then they had a baby. When she came to stay with us, she baby proofed the house including using the cheapie but impossible to remove outlet covers. I saw these and decided to replace the covers I hated to avoid any more frustration whenever I wanted to plug something into the wall outlet. Taking the old ones off was the hard part. These are very easily to install and they are much better to remove. Simple design that appears to work well. Well have to see if the grandkids figure out how to pull these out. My guess is that when they can figure out how to remove them they should be old enough and wise enough to not stick themselves into an outlet. These make for a happier grand-dad and therefore a happier visit.

19-11-2024The only bad thing about these is they werent around when our children were toddlers. Love them for the grandchildren! No longer breaking nails or trying to wiggle such things out of the socket--the old fashioned kind-- using a kitchen knife and really hoping to cheat death one more time while doing so.

> 3 dayI use those for outdoor plugs that I want to protect from elements. Little dielectric grease and slide them in, will protect your sockets from elements. The only negative is hard plastic they are made from, Im afraid it will eventually break after several insert/removal cycles and UV will probably break it down faster then flexible one. Time will tell.

Greater than one weekThe major selling point for this, at least for me, was the ability to easily remove by pulling out the tab. The quality of the materials is actually quite high, but I found it to be slightly difficult to slide down and open up. It seems to me that itd be just as easy to use regular covers and use your finger nails to pull up the cover without the help of a tab, vs. having to put in just as much effort into accessing the pull out tab, then wobbling it out of the socket. When I do it, Im worried slightly that I might break the cover. In this case, Im thinking maybe simpler is better. So, that being said, its a decent quality product that works very well as advertised, but be advised that it may be slightly more work to pull out that it appears!

Greater than one weekI started with the old school basic ones. Getting something hard enough to help pop them off was getting old, but these ones lock into place and unlock a little flap that can assist with unplugging them.. at first i was skeptical of it but after trying them I realized that the flap was a little harder to pull down and open so i dont have to worry about any of my kids being able to!

> 3 dayif you are baby proofing, stop looking and get these!! so many for the price and absolutely baby proof. I have a very curious 9 month old, and even when he grabs these I dont worry because they are so secure. love them!

> 3 dayIm a nanny so I use lots of different kinds of outlet covers. They go in just like any cover does, pops right in to the outlet. the little mechanism was confusing at first but now I know its the best invention ever. when it is time to remove them the bottom part clicks down and creates a little handle to be able to pull it out. A small child would not be able to figure this out or have the strength to activate it but an adult easily can and I dont have to break fingernails to dig underneath the cover to pull it out.
