OWC 2TB Envoy Pro Elektron USB-C Portable NVMe SSD

I started my External Drive shopping with the Samsung T7 and wasnt happy at all as the write speed was hovering right around 100MBs. This is MUCH better than that but still nowhere near the stated 1000+MBs I was hoping for. Still, Id recommend it.

Speed is amazing and the power drain on USB is minimal allowing me to use in a hub (Thunderbolt external drives wont always work on a Mac). I bought two more.

I have moved past the other guys (G-tech, Western Digital, ...) and am sold on OWC. This unit is fast, really sturdy, and works perfectly on macOS and Windows. There are lower-cost external SSDs but I can vouch for the level of technical support I have gotten from OWC. I have had two external units (not the Elektron) go bad and they fix it (or replace) from the USA as urgent care (fast!).

I use it as a Time Machine drive for a Mac Studio.

This thing is tiny and feels like solid steel. Amazing! Stuck it to the back of my iMac, and set it up as a boot clone and backup without issues.

This storage device is small and fast and has replaced my LAN back-up storage because of its speed and portablility.

For years Ive relied on RAID drives for my main drive. Decided to go to SSD for my main files (backed up hourly, daily etc etc) and the change in speed of all things is fast fast fast.

I purchased this device last week and installed it early this week to use as a primary drive to work in conjunction with the 1 TB SSD drive in the new Mac Studio I expect to arrive by the end of this month. This HD is SMALL, but an extremely well built tiger in this tank. The connection doesnt appear to be as snug as Id have expected but so far, so good. No interruptions whatsoever when in use, and set up was a breeze. Based on just one week of use I obviously cant speak to long term use, but it clearly is a well designed and ostensibly well built unit I hope will last me a long time I highly recommend this product.

I have a older MacBook Pro I work on and it can’t be upgraded so I bought this and it works like a charm. Extremely portable and fast I love owc have to get a new MacBook or studio from there

This SSD is being used as an external storage device for my M1 Mac Mini setup. I’m not doing anything fancy with it, it will be used with Time Machine as well as a partition for other things. It’s an upgrade from my old external HD.
