When they throw it, now the worst they can do is have it dangle, which is better than it slamming on the floor getting dirty, damaging your floors, breaking the cup, and causing you to have to continually bend down to pick up the bottle. Also, sometimes our kid throws it down when done drinking and then pulls it up by the tether when he wants more.
