The whole product is very sturdy, and the loaded spring grabs on to any surface. I love the swing out options, and in my case I put it in a vertical shelf wall. It is really intended for a desk level install, but you can use this for a more creative install if needed

This is a space saver for me and am able to remove all the clutter from my table. As i can neatly place my headphone on this headphone holder under the table. The small clips also holds the wires on place. Its strong enough to hold headphones. One thing is the length of the clips could be an inch bigger, but thats not a big deal. Its a good utility for anybody using headphones.
