This material works well in capturing the excess material and then cleans out very well. Gets kind of scruffy after awhile so the replacements are nice.

Still on the expensive side but keeps aquarium water crystal clear. They can last 2 to 3 months with monthly rinsing and maintenance of filter. Trying Plain Polyfiber Sheets to see if cost can be reduced, just need to cut them to canister tray shape no big deal. Overall very satisfied with performance of this product.

I use new ones everytime I clean one of my cascade 1000 canisters. 3 per canister the way I use it. They are pretty much destroyed after a couple months, Im not even sure if they are meant to be re-used. But, they keep my water crystal clear.
