Apparently the first unit received was defective. This one works perfect and fast response to motion Received this today and did not work at all. Unit kept detecting motion even inside the closet! Returning this right away.

I started acquiring my first Hue devices after purchasing the Echo 4th Gen + Hue light bulb combo. My impression overall was that all Hue products were going to be compatible with Alexa. Initially, the sensor could be added to the Alexa app and be used to control other smart devices in the home. It also has a built-in temperature sensor, which is pretty neat. Ive gradually bought more sensors until I have 14 in total in the home. However, over time, the sensors disconnected from the Echo zigbee network and they would have to be reset with a paperclip each time just to get it working again. 2022 was a terrible year where this was an almost weekly occurrence. People posted complaints online about this, and the Hue skill in the Alexa app was rated 1/5 stars because of this fixable glitch. For the outrageous price you pay for this sensor, youre better off using other zigbee-based sensors. A good example is the ThirdReality motion sensor where Ive owned for 2 years and had ZERO problems since its inception in our home. Philips Hue Motion Sensor - its overpriced, doesnt work half the time, and is a pain in the rear to constantly reset it to work again!

Didnt like that it had to be screwed into the surface it was mounting to. In the end the sensor was too big and bulky and I returned it. Now there are screw holes left behind.

I keep buying these Philips motion sensors, especially after comparing them to the GE Wink garbage motion sensors. The GE version takes too long to respond compared to the Philips, and also the GE motion sensorss battery just dies without notification. I have many Philips motion sensors and Hue lights all over my house and I am so happy to have them in my familys home,

I have purchased three of these and they were super easy to install and set up. Two of them went into a exterior entry stairwell that is L shaped. I used the Hue Labs Sensor Couple for these to work together and that was easy to set up also. The third one was for a dark hallway that went out to the garage where we come and go from all the time.

Love these bulbs, makes my life so much more convenient. A little pricey.

This unit replaced an Elgato Eve motion sensor which our painter inadvertently destroyed. I have placed it outside in our carport—protected from rain, and hopefully that is enough. What I like: - feels very solid, compact, well built - the mount is magnetic. changing batteries should be a breeze, and it can be slightly angled - response time is great: my HomeKit action is triggered immediately What could be improved: - allow actions to be triggered by the temperature or light sensors

Works perfectly in ,y hue ecosystem. Works better than described and is extremely user friendly within the Philips hue app.

When used in a low traffic room these are great. When used in a bedroom however they are a little finicky. Sensitivity too high and lights will turn on in middle of the night. Sensitivity too low and they won’t turn on when you need them.
