> 24 hourWe have a closet that has no light in it, so I put in a Hue Lightstrip. It was easy enough to tell Siri when to turn the light in the closet on and off, but finding this product... I was tempted. It works exactly as Id hope. Super easy to set up in our home; super easy to set up in the app. And now the closet light goes on when we open the closet, stays on when we need it and turns itself off after we close the door.

> 24 hourI am using this outside under a covered doorway to control the porch light whenever someone comes to the house or leaves the house. It works great. I can control the sensitivity to light so it is only active at dusk and night. The porch light is also connected to Alexa so it con be easily turned off! This is my second sensor. I also have one on the basement stairs that automatically turns on the basement hall lights when some one goes downstairs. Perfect when you have your hands full !!

> 24 hourI just bought two more sensors as the priced dropped some and theyre now HomeKit compatible, unlike the earlier versions. The ad copy and other reviews pretty much cover the features, so Ill just mention three thing that bother me. 1) The light sensor is not sensitive enough for my use. Its job is to detect the amount of ambient light to activate or deactivate the motions sensor. Simply put, in daylight, your lights shouldnt need to come on, and the sensor should prevent that from happening. Should being the operative word. I have two hallways that get a lot of ambient but not direct daylight. During most of the day theyre well lit and dont need additional lighting. With the Hue apps Light Sensitivity set all the way to the bottom it says Inactive, meaning theres sufficient daylight to preclude the need for additional light(s) controlled by the sensor, and that motion will not trigger the lights. Thats not the case for me. Though the hallways have a lot of ambient light, the sensor still still turns the lights on. Its annoying and wasteful. This wont be the case for everybody, but its something to be aware of. 2) There are just two periods of operation- Day and Night. These are set in the Hue app. You set daytime operation and there rest is night. Or you set night time operation and the rest is day. Id like there to be a third period - Evening. During the day, theres no need (depending on individual application) for light. During the evening, moderate to bright light would be in order. At night, dim light from the bedroom to the refrigerator would be much appreciated. Even the fridge light would be too bright. This would be easy for Philips to implement. 3) I couldnt find a place for two other sensors to activate at a point that I wanted, and cover the area the way I wanted. Then I found that I could angle the sensor on the magnetic base juuuust so and Id get exactly the performance envelop I was wanting. But a door slam would shake the sensor enough that it fully seated on the post as designed, and I lost the exact coverage needed. If Hue would sensing the base to have a hemispherical end with a corresponding surface in the sensor, instead of the flat surface on both the base and sensor, youd have an additional degree of adjustability that would be a big plus in aiming the sensors. Again, not everybody would need this, but its a simple thing to do and would be a big help to many of us. Outside of the above, the sensors all perform well. Its so much nicer to just walk into the hall or room and have the lights turn on when entering and turn off after leaving. My kitchen sensor turns the lights on when I enter from either end, and off one minute after leaving. Theres no talking to Siri or Alexa, and no worry that a guest will turn off the light switch and stop the show. It only took me two days to forget to ask the girls to turn the kitchen lights on or off. Its all automatic. Now to get some lights for the bathroom. I removed one star for the three points mentioned above, and one star is reserved for longevity/durability.
