I’m new to resin printing, but in the past 2 weeks I’ve tried both the Anycubic Eco Resin and this Phrozen Aqua-Gray 4K. The Anycubic Eco has been much better both in terms of build quality and smell. This Phrozen resin is very smelly to me. I’m sure it’d be fine for those that have good ventilation, but it was terrible for me as I only have one small window to vent my space. I’m not sure how this qualifies as “low odor” but I’d very much recommend using only in very well ventilated area and possibly even a respirator. The build quality was fine, but I actually got better prints with the Anycubic Eco resin. The Phrozen came out brittle. This very well could be my print settings as I’m using Chitubox’s default profile for this resin with my Phrozen Sonic mini 4K and I had to create my own profile for the Anycubic Eco (0.05mm layers, 9 second exposure, 60 second base layer exposure, 8 base layers). Lastly, it’s much cheaper buying directly from Phrozen. Not sure why Amazon tacks on an extra $10/kg. Overall, it was definitely usable, but it seems like there are better products out there in the market.

For a novice printer like myself, this is the absolute best resin I could hope for. Absolutely no failures, printing everything I threw at it with high fidelity on the default chitubox settings in a Phrozen Sonic mini. Printed upwards of 30 miniatures, and some much larger pieces (like the tank and also a small cottage) before running out. Tried another cheaper brand after this and was floored by the lower quality, will be going back to Phrozen for faster print times and ease of use. 10/10 especially for first timers

I ordered 2 bottles of 4k grey resin to Chile. 1 month later, I got the 2 resins in the correct package, but to my surprise, when I opened them, they were 2 bottles of phrozen abs-like resin. I wont go thru the process of getting them back.. so i am stuck with these resins. I tested them. Worst resins I have test. Printed in phrozen mighty 4k, they where so stuck to the base plate, that when I was going to remove them they shattered in small pieces. bad resin. not what i ordered.

Not much to say here. Its a little bit expensive, but there isnt better resin out there for the Phrozen Sonic Mini 4k.

I’ve really struggled to get this resin to print well with my Sonic Mini 4K. Lots of failed prints where other resins work well.

This is easily my favorite resin. Works great with stock settings in my slicer. Prints great detail !!! For minis ... this is my favorite resin !!! I actually mix this with Aqua Green and it’s a bit less brittle. I’ve been having great success with both the grey and the green !

I used to avoid Phrozen resins completely (I got a few with the printers and then a few more when they ran a sale on Amazon, and they all came in leaky bottles and they required massive supports). I avoided them for several years. Then I got Mini 8K with a bottle of their 8K resin, and the new bottle doesnt leak (and the seal is excellent) and it was very easy to print. So I tried the 4K resin. Its very similar to the 8K resin, slightly slower, marginally lower resolution that you can only notice with a small 8K printer. It has excellent printability and is easy to clean. After the IPA bath, its not tacky at all. I wave a UV light over it to cure any remaining wet spots and its done. I dont do the regular all-around curing on it, and it stays slightly flexible! Its actually hard to break, it will bend to the point that it doesnt recover the original shape, but it still wont break (you need to varnish or prime it, or it will keep curing and getting harder and more brittle). Even better, I found that it does not need to be primed: acrylic paints stick to it just fine, including contrasts and washes. The ivory resin has a pleasant color to serve as a base, and the grey resin can be used as-is in the shadows if you do zenithal priming with white.

Great print quality. Works great with the manufacturer recommended settings. I want to check out the water washable stuff next. No complaints thus far. I use a Phrozen Sonic Mini 4k with this resin. I have used other resins with this printer to great success but something about this resin stands above the rest in regards to overall print quality. I just wish they made a 4k water washable with the same level of detail. Maybe one day!
