> 24 hourLets face it, NO ONE likes changing a FEP sheet, its not fun and its time consuming, plus you can mess it up if you arent careful enough. Luckily, Phrozen has some good tutorial videos on their site explaining the best way to do it for their line of printers. I had to change the FEP on my brand new Mini8k yesterday as the factory installed one just wasnt producing good prints at all for some odd reason. I do have a few tips that I learned while doing this: 1. The most obvious, be careful and wear gloves when you peel the protection off of the FEP sheet when laying it down onto the frame. Finger oil / prints arent great so go slow. 2. Use the build plate (CLEAN IT FIRST) to set into the middle to help reduce the tension while screwing it in. This is how Phrozen suggests doing it, but you can still do whatever trick you use if you want. 3. Make sure the smaller Alan wrench is in ALL THE WAY IN before turning as you can strip the screws easily, which is the last thing you want to do! 4. Once everything is all done, I will hit the top and bottom with canned air to get any particles off of it. If you do get something on it, I only use Airway spray cleaner with a lint free microfiber cloth to clean it up. IPA messes up FEP sheets after a while, so I never clean the FEP with it. Sure, these can be expensive, but I always stick with the originals (which are often hard to come by) as I have never had luck with cheap third-party options. At least you get x3 in this pack, vs. just x2 with most other brands. So yah, it works. So far, my new prints are coming off much better, though I have to wait until I get home to see how the big print is going / went :D
