Greater than one weekNothing environmentally sound about this. However after you insert pills and the fluid makes them inedible…..You can put the pills in the garbage. Expensive. Maybe you could just add vinegar or some thing and your unneeded pills to a old, jar so that they are not usable anymore.

> 3 dayAs the caregiver of a dialysis patient, I regularly have to monitor changes in medication. The kidneys cant process too many meds, so at many times, my mother is taken off of medication. Once a year, we would typically give all of her expired medications to a nurse to properly dispose of. See, disposing of medications as you would dispose of toilet paper or rotten food simply isnt safe. More than 50 percent of U.S. adults improperly dispose of medication. Its important to look at your medication labeling to determine the safest way of disposal - but only a few are determined to be safe enough to be flushed. Water disposal causes those meds to end up in our lakes and streams, which can have a harsh environmental impact on wildlife and humans. Not disposing of medications can also lead to abuse and misuse of these medications. While every state has more than 5,000 take-back programs for medication disposal, the Pill Terminator Safe Pill Disposal Container adds convenience to this. The size of the bottle is about the size of a bottle of adult multivitamins. It can hold up to 300 pills, and can also hold liquid or powder medications. Simply put the medications in the bottle, add warm water according to the directions, and close the bottle using the child-proof safety cap. Then you can get rid of your meds knowing that no one can access them. It is meant for one use, so it might be best to use every few months to make sure all expired medications are gone. This is ideal for homebound persons, or those who are simply too busy to participate in a take-back program. Its also ideal for households with children. This item provides safety, peace of mind, and even helps get rid of the clutter left by expired medications. Its a great product, and as a caregiver, I highly recommend it. I received this product at a discount in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

> 3 dayI have bottles and bottles of old meds from my husband before he was put in a nursing home. I knew I had to dispose of them but was overwhelmed by the amount I had. I was not sure about the whole diaper deal, or even a kitty litter thing I had heard. So when I had a chance I disposed of a great number of his old pills using my new Pill Terminator. It was so easy to use that I recommend always keeping these on hand and you will have no excuse for keeping old medications around the house, in the cupboards, medicine cabinets, and anywhere else you might keep your pills. Keep your kids, grandkids, pets safe and also the environment will thank you!
