Planters Peanut Oil, 24 oz

It was nice to find this in a smaller container to try making popcorn. Well, the popcorn made the old fashioned way which is easy was delicious made with peanut oil. I will buy again.

Since it is hard to find in local stores I had to order it on Amazon. Price is a bit high. Only 24 oz instead of a full 32 oz. What really is annoying is that it was shipped loose in an Amazon plastic shipping bag. It did arrive safely, but what a mess if it had been damaged.

I was disappointed with the price and the size.

I dont use peanut oil often, but I have a couple of recipes that call for it in which regular cooking oil just wont provide the same flavor. My local stores - and I have checked everywhere - have stopped carrying this size container of peanut oil and now only carry it in gallon sizes. I suppose most people use it for frying turkeys or similar big jobs, but I use it for stir-frying and in a Chinese salad dressing and dont want to have to store a gallon of this for a long time. I was happy to find that Amazon still carries the smaller size but it does cost quite a bit more than regular cooking oil. But I will happily pay the price to get this smaller size.

It is not bad. Its the good oil for deep frying food. Its gives the food flavor and a crunchy crust. It also doesnt burn at high temperature like some of the other oils out there! I highly recommend it.3 stars

Im giving a half teaspoon to my dog everyday for his skin and coat. This was recommended by someone else who had tried it for their dogs dry skin. Supposedly you should only try peanut oil. So far, its working.

If its psychological, and maybe the name makes it seem so, Im a fool for a name brand like Planters when it comes to peanut products. Back in the day when you could purchase this in food stores, it was almost as clear as mineral oil. But even so, it being slightly yellow, let your mind fool you like it does mine. I feel it does actually help improve frying foods....offering a lighter, overall taste and appearance.
