Most of the images and description show 1/4 but this is not even close to 1/4 thick. In English units this measures 0.2295. There were a few spots that claimed 6mm, but this is even less than 6mm, in metric this measures 5.8293mm. There are no tolerances mentioned, and no statement that the specification is nominal, so the description is in error. Amazon packed this well in a large box with additional padding so it arrived in good condition. As others stated, its got a plastic protective film rather than the usual paper. My plastic film was pretty scratched up but seems to have done enough to protect the acrylic from being scratched.

Great quality & great packaging

Had film on both sides and two layers of packaging to protect during shipping. Good product, still thicker than I expected. I’ll check out the thickness in a box store before ordering next time

The acrylic is not cast it is extruded and does not come with the paper masking as shown in the listing.

I have an older house with a central fan that is no longer functioning. I covered the louvers with this plexiglass to keep the heat from escaping. You dont even notice that it is there.

I originally ordered this to keep our cats off the lanai while it was being rescreened. Due to a goof in my roomies measurements, it did not work. I have a crafting cart that, for whatever reason, has a perforated top. This turned out to be the perfect size. I now have extra work space without having to worry about stuff falling into the drawers.
