I thought it would be a little bit bigger

After giving this a full charge, I tested that the light and fan work as expected, then I put the fan on HIGH and let it run. After 18 hours, it was still running strong, and had one bar left on the battery. Ultimately it ran out of juice after more than 18 and less than 22 hours, which is longer than promised in the ad copy. The fan moves a fair amount of air for its size — the blades are only about 6 inches across. The light gets fairly bright, but doesn’t have a great throw pattern. It would be enough to read by in a tent, but not enough to really light up the whole space, a different lantern would be bette for that kind of use. The fan body and protective screen feel well made and sturdy, although the hanging hook seems pretty light-weight, and has no provision for swiveling at all. You’d better hope you want your air moving at about right-angles to where you hang it, because that’s how it’s going to naturally hang. That oil is the one piece I’m concerned with regarding longevity; it feels like it could break off if someone bumped into the fan while it’s hanging. The ad copy for this fan mentions the battery capacity several times, which might lead you to think that you can use this to charge other devices. As great as that would be, it’s not the case. The USB-C interface is one-way (charges the fan only), which makes the fan somewhat less useful than it could be. The actual battery capacity id now difficult to test since we can’t draw power from it directly… it’s also pretty meaningless, since the only things that really matters are the run-time and the charge time. While there are some areas for improvement, I’m satisfied with this fan. It will serve me well keeping the air moving under my desk while I’m at the computer, and under my canopy at craft fairs.
