I wasnt sure quite what to expect from this as a DIY project, but these worked out great. Theyre designed to be mounted on the floor, but after some testing with a multimeter, I determined that the orientation of the magnet to the sensor isnt all that important. As long as the magnet is within about 2 inches of the switch, the switch closes and I read a short on the lead wires. I went ahead and took the magnet off the steel angle-bracket it shipped with and just mounted the magnet directly to the top of my garage door. Then I wired the sensor side to the garage wall next to the magnet. With that wired into my security system, everything is now up and running and Im a happy camper! I cant think of anything bad to say about these. They did what I wanted them to do right out of the box.

Received it on time. Installed it quickly. It worked like a charm. What more could you ask for? I would definitely buy it again. It was very reasonably priced as well.

Excellent product, well made, worked great. I used it with a raspberry pi to make a MQTT garage door opener for home assistant.

This switch is Normally Open, BUT Closed WHEN in vicinity of the magnet. I use it on my garage door to operate a security system feedback circuit. It is provided with about 2.5 ft of flexible metal conduit so that the wire can not easily be cut with a knife when the door is shut.

Had to replace one of these after 16 years, was happy to find this as a direct replacement. Apparently these switches can get stuck in the closed position if they are installed on a garage door that is seldom opened, which is what happened to the original one. I have another that is still working fine after 16 years (on the garage door that is opened and closed daily).

Works well, probably best option for the money. I was unable to mount this on the side near the steel track, there was too much interference with the magnet to activate the switch. I opted to mount to the top of the garage which was not perfect because the top of my garage panel is not flat. Overall, very pleased with the result. The product itself is very well built.

I installed this switch on the wood frame above my garage door, and attached the magnet bracket to the top edge of the garage door. I have this switch connected to a
