> 24 hourIve used this device consistently for two months, which I think is ample time to formulate an opinion. My experience up to this point always ended the same - I reverted to my own homemade tool and method of circuit diagnosis, which has been determined to be faster, more accurate; and the tool didnt cost $130.00. This probably works OK on cars, but not so well on trucks. This is not a criticism of the tool, but trucks contain much more metal in the chassis, which disrupts the ability of the receiver to follow the signal. The ability to track a short to ground is OK, but the device isnt capable of tracking a short to power. I was led to believe that the device could be used on an active circuit, which it cannot - the circuit must be completely isolated. This is understandable and the the only method that I truly trust, but this tool doesnt tell you much more than a low-impedance incandescent bulb will, which costs a lot less than $130.00. Other observations include: » The signal lead is too short - its necessary to manufacture and continually modify a hanger for the transmitter » The probe tips are too broad and are likely to create a connection problem where one did not exist before » Cheap in quality - this wouldnt last six months in a working shop » A short to power cannot be tracked » High-impedance - does not load the suspect circuit and will not identify a soft or intermittent fault » Self-piercing probes are dangerous when applied to modern vehicles - the use of these leads on the wrong circuit will definitely create a problem where one did not exist before DIY-types and beginners will probably like this device just fine, but experienced professionals will be disappointed.

> 24 hourThis short/open finder works good. Keep in mind this is not a magic box and does not tell exactly whats wrong and where the problem is. It is a good aid to finding electrical problems. Not a rookie tool. It is for more advanced techs with good knowledge of automotive electrical systems and how they work. This is a shop time saver IF you read the instructions.

> 24 hourhad some wires burn near the exhaust manifold on a f150 5.4. repaired the wires and still had a code for the torque converter solenoid. used this to tell me the wires to the transmission were all good. it was a shorted solenoid coil. replaced coil and wiring harness inside the transmission and all is good.

> 24 hourLove the use of this device, tracking electrical and fixing bad connections is a snap. No need to rip open harnesses. Just scan and open

> 24 hourProduct has broken after a few uses. I have had it almost 6 months and used less than a handfull of times. The product has broken. Seller wasnt very much help basically told me to call power products who was absolutely NO help at all. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!! They do not stand behind there products.

> 24 hourThis product works, it will not work with 24V it will burn up... 12V is perfect and it will live up to its reputation. Power prove makes some good product.

> 24 hourThe short to ground feature worked for me to find a problem in my tail lamp circuit. Took me all of 5 minutes to set up the device and find the problem using the provided pieces. Works exactly like they said it would, it really saved me a ton of time tearing out wiring harnesses to find a shorted wire. Was pretty simple and easy to use. I’ve been a professional mechanic for 15 years and this is a serious time saver if you know what you’re doing.
