Not for beginners I would think because they are more costly but I would buy them if I was new to art because I always liked to learn with the best... If you find what you like early on, you dont waste your money on poor quality supplies. These are HIGHLY pigmented. I LOVE these. Beautiful rich color in the convenience of a tin that you can take with you. Has built in paint wells for mixing... Also comes with a swatch card for quick reference. I cant say enough good things about the Prima products!

Absolutely love these watercolors so easy to use easy flow onto paper . I used these colors a lot in grasses , water, sky . The various colors of the palette are great .

Has to be one of my favorite confection sets!! Im all about underwater so this watercolor set sings to me whenever I open it. I love every color thats there. Shipping and handling were well done! Edit- when I tried them on arches cold press and trekell brushes it IS BEAUTIFUL. the pigment for the blues are just perfect!

This is the best brand for affordable watercolor pans and is great for all levels. They have a lovely selection of colors and I’ve yet to receive one color that wasn’t vibrant or decadent! This color set is my absolute favorite as blue is my favorite color and they’re very true to picture. Most of them are very opaque at first stroke and make gradients rather nicely. They’re definitely not the same quality as Windsor and Newton but I find them to be more than sufficient for professional use. I will say that they’re not the easiest to reactivate and pick up off the page but I don’t find it to be a big enough issue to change my rating.

The colors are gorgeous. Beautiful and highly pigmented color payoff. These are more expensive than other brands and the package was smaller than I expected but I think you will be pleased with the color options and overall product. Great as a gift as well.
