I began doing research for L-Glutamine after I was experiencing severe bloating. I am careful with my diet- I am vegan, but I couldn’t figure out why I was experiencing painful bloating in the evenings. I add a couple scoops of this glutamate powder to the water bottle that my partner and I share every morning. I have noticed that my bloating has reduced and is no longer painful! It will ruin your water. For whatever reason when I mix it with water it develops a nasty but tolerable taste. It tastes fully unflavored when you dry scoop it. It’s also so powder-like and the scoop is so tiny it’s so easy.

My daughter is am Internal Med. Doc, and she got me in to this product. You will not notice a difference for 2-4 weeks, but you WILL find that it def. improves the efficiency of your digestive system. I work out every day of the week, and it is helping there as well (muscle). I cant say enough about how this stuff has helped, this old man.

Nothing against the quality of the product itself, but a word of warning for anyone using this who is prone to anxiety-based mental health conditions. Most of the internet raves about how safe and helpful this is in daily doses temporarily up to 30g, especially for healing leaky gut, which I attempted to do. What I learned too late into my experiment & deeper internet digging is that is can seriously upset the balance of your neurotransmitters, and if your body converts the vast majority of this to glutamate (an upper) instead of equal parts GABA (a downer), you could experience severe psychological & physical side effects like I ended up with. Without every detail, I worked my way up over a month from 500mg pills to 25g of powder before I realized something was seriously wrong. A sudden 4 days straight of crazy intense brain fog & a massive migraine, even after I cold turkey quit taking any of it, and at least 2 massive panic attacks 5 days apart that felt like a caffeine or drug overdose—jittery, hard to breathe, spiraling dark thoughts that took hours to come down from and nearly required medical attention. I know this won’t apply to everyone, but if you have any history of anxiety based disorders, please AVOID GLUTAMINE supplements now matter how much they may help your guts or workouts. I wish I would have done way more research before I entertained this, and yes I did run it by my doctor, who didn’t think I’d have lasting effects. It was one terrifying week from hell I won’t soon forget, and I just don’t wish that trauma on anyone.
