Yellow gas pipe tape used in new assembly with no leaks after initial install. All work done with permits and inspection.

The threads had become so crusted with mineral deposits that the new anode rod would not thread in far enough and would seep whenever there was pressure in the tank. After using this tap to clean up the threads, the new rod sealed perfectly.
