Great little CB radio that operates in the AM and FM bands!! Really small profile but powerful output. Had decent reports when transmitting to the local area. I’m pleased with the durability of the unit and the compact nature of this radio. Very intuitive to use too! Easy to recommend!

I was planning on having this unit as a home base system until I tried to use it and some of the basic functions. My main issue with it is the squelch function. It is not very easy to use and ended up driving me a little crazy trying to figure out the adjustment for it. I am about 7 miles from the main interstate and like talking to some of the truck drivers as they come through the area. I have been using a 30+ year old Uniden radio in my car and wanted something I could use in the house. I have a home made dipole antenna in the attic which works great with my old radio. My SWR is 1.4 on channel 40 and 1.1 on channel 1 using my old radio. With this radio I cant get the SWR below 1.4. It varies between 1.3 and 1.7. And this is just by changing the radio, nothing with the antenna itself. The colors on the display are a great feature, but if I cant use it easily and get the SWR figured out, then I cant talk very good with it. I have other Radioditty equipment for HAM radio and they dont have any issue. I believe I can get it figured out and make it useful, just probably not for my home unit.

Super small head unit, comes with bracket for underdash mounting and wiring for fuse box. All controls are on the Mic for easy one handed use. I actually placed head unit under the seat after putting a standard cigarette lighter plug on wires. This makes it easy to move from car to car if needed. Unit works well, great for traveling and staying in contact with other vehicles you are traveling with. I would recommend.

First, unlike others who received this item for free, I purchased it which in my opinion limits the bias in reviews. That being said, I was looking for a simple CB radio mostly for my state to state travel when I am stuck in traffic on smaller highways and either do not have cell reception or the maps are useless as they do not have up to date info. I am an amateur operator but dont bring my equipment to be put at risk on travel. I did not want to have a large radio or even deal with mounting the rig if I chose not to. I was surprised to come accross this Radoddity CS-47 CB which appeared to be a good value for $99 and would meet my needs for communication in desolate areas. I bought the unit and upon unpacking, confirmed my amazement for such a small unit but it also had a good build quality as well. I did initial testing at the base station and had no issues making a contact many states away which a great sounding radio report was given. The mic is very functional, simple, and most importantly, small but has all the controls. I saw a video on the various settings and such and customized the color display. I ran some tests against my other radios and found that the tonal quality on both transmit and receive was very good. I tried the various DSP modes and set it on 3 which provides a large noise reduction but still allows for a decent sound on receive. I tried the transmit noise reduction as well but did not feel like it was too effective however I set it at 2. The controls are layed out well and in one hand I can change volume, channels and even modes if I care to employ FM. I still have yet to find an FM operator to talk with on the CB bands here in the US, but maybe it has more support elsewhere. In testing FM listening with my amateur equipment it sounded great of course. The various roger beeps are great too. I paired this with a Lil Wilson magnetic mount antenna but the range is not far via ground wave (maybe 2-3 miles) so I am upgrading the mobile antenna with something larger. One complaint I have is about no SWR (even a warning) so you have to use a meter to check. The other is no SSB which I knew going in to this. I think that this rig is fine for the most part with AM/FM but it would be nice to see another model with SSB. There are other rigs like Anytone that offer SSB and more but those are much more than $99, however Radioddity should have an SSB offering to compeat in the next segment up as this is a nice quality radio and a great value for AM CB communication when traveling like I do.

This is a neat little compact CB radio that will be easy to install in cramped vehicle cabins. If you are having trouble finding a place to mount a more traditional CB radio, this could be the answer. Menu operation takes a minute to get accustomed to, but once you are familiar with it, cha going settings will be easy. The display shows coded menu options, so keep the instruction manual close so you can refer to it when changing settings. The main body of the radio is tiny and can almost fit in the palm of your hand. The mic uses what appears to be a CAT5 cable jack, so you might be able to use a cable extension (not a crossover cable) if you need more length in order to mount the unit under a seat or behind a dashboard panel. It came with a microphone bracket, main unit mounting bracket, mounting screws, thumb screws and rubber washers to go between the unit and the bracket. It also has a spare fuse. All of the controls are on the microphone head, and you can choose between red, blue, green, yellow, cyan and white backlight colors. This is a cool feature and will let you choose a color that makes viewing easier, or one that matches your interior trim color. This is a modern CB that has both AM and FM modulation, so it can make use of the new FCC rule changes that allow FM use on the CB band. Additionally, it has CTCSS and DCS squelch options to help mitigate interference in crowded band conditions. The sound is quite good for such a small speaker. The radio does have an external speaker jack in case you want a bigger speaker. The regular audio squelch is a 2 step process to adjust it, so that isnt as convenient as turning a knob, but thats a necessary compromise to get this tiny form factor. If you are using this for mounting in aJeep or other 4X4 for trail communications, I think you will really enjoy the FM capability and the CTCSS/DCS features. It will function much like a GMRS radio when used in FM mode, but without having to get a license. And you will still be able to use AM and communicate with older CBs. It does not have SSB, but its not really intended for that type of operation anyway. Overall I think its a solid choice for a super compact CB radio with FM capability.

The CS-47 by Radioddity is a solid, competent, CB transceiver.... Full-featured, with 40 AM channels, newly-FCC-authorized FM channels, squelch, and RF gain. The radio is made tight-space friendly, thanks to its unique spin on the traditional two-piece design. The guts of this radio live in a small box- not much bigger than a standard deck of playing cards... not much heavier, either- which can easily be mounted under the dash, under a seat... or even between a seat, and the center console. The radios controls, and speaker, are all conveniently located in the mic housing- giving you fingertip control of the radio... literally! Installation of the radio is pretty straight forward: Find a suitable location to mount the head unit (hardware, included), connect the red and black power leads to 12-volts- positive, and ground- respectively, plug in an antenna, and plug in the mic/control unit. In operation, this CB outputs the same 4-watts of power as an analog radio, with transmission that is strong and clear, and reception range that is equally impressive. The built-in speaker (on the mic/control/handset is rather small... imparting a somewhat tinny sound. However, there is a jack on the back of the head unit, allowing for the connection of an external speaker. While the external output isnt super-powerful, it does allow for use of a slightly larger speaker- improving sound quality. Technically functioning like an export radio, the CS-47 is easily switchable (single button press) between AM and FM operation. There is also a sequence of button presses that will enable the user to select frequency bands. In addition to the conventional squelch and gain controls, the radio features quiet codes- CTCSS, and DCS functionality. Anyone who has used FMRS or GMRS radio equipment knows how useful those systems can be... especially when trying to avoid irrelevant radio traffic. Unfortunately, the CTCSS and DCS functions are only truly useful, if the station you want to hear from is using a radio capable of CTCSS/DCS operation, as well. Having all function controls available on the mic/handset is at once, both convenient, and bothersome. Every control is within easy reach... but the mic is also a jumble of buttons... and selecting certain features may require a short press, a long press, or a combination of button presses- not always easy to remember. All, in all, the CS-47 is a good radio, well- equipped to serve in the modern era of CB. In truth, the only thing keeping this radio from being excellent, is the lack of SSB operation.

very small and compact . fits in center console of my tacoma . works great as a backup for my gmrs radio when i am off road.

very easy to use and has a very user friendly interface. do not like that it did not come with an antenna. other than that it is a great unit with clear audio. the buttons on the unit are very responsive.

I like the ease of mounting in a small and tight position. The 4x4x1 size of the radio allows easy concealment out of the prying eyes of others and out of the sun. Speaker is good as long as you dont need a boomer; plenty of volume even for me (I wear 2 hearing aids). The controls take some time to figure out; mostly due to the Chinese version of English translation. The company really needs to work on that. Other than that I would recommend giving it a try! I noticed a few remarks about not being able to tune the SWRs. If you are ordering one of the trunk mounts take notice that the mounts only come with 16.5 feet of coax. You need 18 feet of coax. Either make a 18 pigtail or replace the original with 18 of new coax and it will tune just fine.
