I have had many Ram mounts. Mostly the ball type with the centre knob style clamp, which are hard to keep tight an usually cant keep a large graph from falling in heavy seas. This unit is rock solid. !! Easy to position. Would recommend

I went with the vertical mount so I could attach it to a piece of pipe. This allows me to swing it around to the front when Im fishing from the bow. This has worked out real well for me. The Item is actually made from metal and is very sturdy. It was the perfect solution for me

I have a Lowrance HDS 12 gimble mount on this, and the whole pattern lines up perfect. My only dislike on this, is if you use nylon lock nuts, the inner holes hit the mount arm when trying to rotate the mount. Putting bolts up through the plate fixes this, but its nor ideal. Once I have this mounted in my boat it may not be an issue. But other than that, its a quality mount.
