I am a long time fan of Real Techniques, I have brushes that are years and years old that are still going strong. This kit arrived and the fan brush bristles were bent and warped, maybe because of shipping. Nothing I did would straighten them back. I was unable to test it. The defining brush is about in the middle of ELF and Kat Von D; softer than ELF, a little stiffer than Kat Von D. Its a good medium density contour brush and Id prefer this one over the other two brands if I had a cream to apply. The smaller highlight brush....I actually didnt like it for a highlight BUT its perfect for dusting Laura Mercier translucent powder under my eyes to set the Becca correcting concealer I use there. To me its not quite what I want for a highlight brush but its perfect for undereye. I like my highlight brush to be larger, fuller...this one is VERY precise and was a definite line where highligher hit. If you like that kind of precision then this is your brush. Id still rate the whole set four stars as their brushes are a great quality for their price. They sure do have lasting power through wash after wash.

Great product

They look like the real thing. Even if they are not, they still perform well. They are easy to clean, the bristles are soft and what I like most is that they fit my small eyelids. Worth it

Best makeup brushes

I really enjoy RealTechniques brushes. I buy them often. They are good quality drugstore brushes. As for the set I bought, (enhanced eye set) I mostly bought this for the lash comb so that I can deal with lash clumping after applying mascara. It did a decent job separating my lash hairs. It helped create a more polished look. I do recommend if you’re looking for good quality beauty tools at an affordable price.

Id have to say the 3 shadow brushes dont wow me, they seem a little too stiff. I guess my set of brushes from Cat Cosmetics (goat hair) have spoiled me over the years. The Fine Liner Brush is awesome: I can draw a very thin line of eyeliner with this and its a longer handle than Ive been forced to use with other liner brushes previously - giving me better control while drawing the line. I also love that the lash separator is made of metal over a plastic one. I use this on my brows as well as my lashes. The included brush cup is a nice touch, although I wish it had a weighted bottom as these are so easy to knock over the way they are.
