Great controller

The only thing that kept this from being a 5 was pairing it to the bluetooth receiver. Let me start by saying I have bought two other wireless remotes for the NES and the SNES mini. This one almost didnt pair. I had to connect it to my computer and pair it because it wouldnt pair directly from the genesis mini. That took me about 2 hours to figure out... after reading directions 2 times over it mentioned nothing about what to do if it doesnt pair beaides resetting the remote and making sure light colors matched..... never had a problem pairing these before. Aside from that everything works flawlessly. Great reaction time on the mini. Cool case..... havent tried it on an old sega genesis yet. How cool would that be?

Made of a nice hard plastic, buttons are receptive to commands. Inputs happen with zero noticeable lag. Fantastic controller for any retro gamer who is tired of cables making the retro set up look like crap. Love these controllers!

I dont recommend this if youre buying it for use with the Switch like I did. I have the Sega Classics collection and it is pretty useless for those games. There is no in-game button mapping option and you cant map this controller through the Switch settings either. This means your stuck with the crappy layout for that collection. There are other Sega Ages games I wanted to buy but it appears I wont be able to properly map those either. The C and Z buttons are mapped to ZL and RL which makes the standard Sega 6 button layout impossible through the in-game mapping . Whats the point of using this if I cant set it up like the original Sega 6 button controller? I was going to still give it 3 stars but theres a couple other annoying issues. I turned off my Switch (not sleep mode but completely off) and the USB receiver LED kept flashing. This was 45 minutes after I turned it off. Thats just stupid. I hope Im missing something here? Did I do something wrong or does this thing just keep searching until its unplugged? Also the location of the pairing button. Really brilliant idea to locate that in a spot where the switch is blocking access to it. This controller could have been perfect. Such a shame.

I would rate it 3.5 stars if I could. It feels like an original genesis controller in terms of ergonomics and quality. The buttons and d-pad feel just as good as the original as well. The only issues are the controller charges via mini USB. I would have preferred USB-C but its not a big deal. The other issue is pairing. Sometimes it pairs on start up and sometimes it requires one of the three methods for pairing. It gets a little frustrating when you just want to power up and jump into a game but you have to take five minutes to get it connected.

Enjoying this thing on orginal hardware. Feels like the old wire controllers really knocked it out of the park and worth every penny. One thing I dislike it gave my model 2 a malfunction when it powered on when I had the mini USB in since I thought it needed a power supply. Unplugged all the power and it still showed the Genesis having the red light and powered on.

This looks and feels like the original, but has the advantage of wireless. The packaging was very nice too. We will be buying more.
