I bought both, however, and Im using the neoprene for extra padding and storage inside RICHENs canvas one, which expands to hold quite a lot. If you want a colorful case rather than plain black or gray, this RICHEN is a great choice, with many other fun print options available. I chose the mermaid scale print because there are also other accessories (mouse pad, zippered pouches, laptop cover decal etc.) available from other makers.
