I ordered two of these for both of my children and we love them! They were great for our vacation but also nice for everyday use because they take up so much less space in the car. However, getting on the car and buckled is a bit more of a process than with booster seats, but well worth it!

Fantastic innovation! Having one of these really revolutionizes carpool. I also love that it has a rear tether. I feel much safer with that. Also, I would only recommend this for older children who are mature enough to sit in it safely. A toddler may technically be large enough, but they are not mature enough. I use it with my very mature 5 year old. I would not use it with a child who leaned forward in their seat, scooted around a lot, etc.

I use this vest with my disabled child, and it really helps to keep her positioned. Shes 8, 46 inches tall, and 40 pounds- far too big for a conventional carseat but too small (and too hyper!) to sit on the seat with just a seatbelt. This vest works great as a back-up to a full-size car seat. Its not too difficult to put on and fit, and my child seems relatively comfortable using it. Its a real space-saver when you have 5 kids! The only thing Im slightly disappointed in is the velcro that holds the seatbelt on your childs shoulder; I think the fabric needs to be more stiff to keep the seatbelt properly positioned, hence the 4 stars. However, its an important point. I also think a little padding underneath the arm holes wouldnt hurt, but since its more of a comfort rather than safety issue, I wont deduct for that. There are other vests out there, so do you research and make sure you pick out one that will work the best with your child! Good luck!

This didn’t end up working out for us although I really wanted it to. Our 3 yr old is very wiggly and would end up unthreading the seatbelt somehow. Next time we’ll use a lightweight regular car seat for travel.

We live in NYC and use this vest when we are with our toddler and need to jump in a cab. It is perfect for quick trips around town, and lightweight enough to carry it in my diaper bag. Positives: Seems like a very high quality item, lightweight, easy to put on, easy to thread the seatbelt through the hooks. Negatives: Not a booster, so she cannot see out the window, and it is too bulky and uncomfortable for her to wear for long periods of time. Our daughter is at the low end of the allowed size: 31 lbs and 36 and the small fits her, but she has a tendency to slip down into the vest, especially on leather seats. Because I sit in the backseat with her, I can see when that happens and I can straighten her back up, which is much safer and more comfortable for her. For this reason I would not use it on a long trip, especially if I were not sitting in the back seat with her. At least not until she is bigger and the vest fits her better.

Highly recommend this for travel. Especially if you want to travel lighter without having to lug your childs car seat to the airport. I purchased two of these, one for my 5 year old and 6 year old. My 5 year old is small, 36 pounds and it fit him better than I expected. Its so compact and easy to carry. Both fit in my Beis Weekender Bag with room to spare so I love it! Only downside for my kids were, since they did not have their car seat, they werent high enough to see out the window. That was not an issue but it was a bit of a bummer. As far as safety, I was pleased. My husband slammed on the breaks when someone decided to turn out of nowhere, my kids were secured and fine. If you havent seen the video on how to use these buckles, make sure you secure the cars seat belt straps at the top by pulling it all the way then letting it retract so it isnt loose. I would not recommend using these for everyday, a car seat will always be safer. However, its a great alternative when traveling.

This was so convenient for traveling with our 3 year old. We were able to catch taxis, Lyft, Uber easily because we had this safety harness. Much easier than lugging around an enormous car seat!!

So portable and fairly easy to figure out! Make sure your seatbelt locks though (we extend ours as far as they go and then let them retract, pulling the seatbelt snug across our kids), or else it just won’t be secure. Had no issues gate checking our vests in their bags at the airport, but I brought a print out showing that they were a car seat equivalent in case they wanted to charge us for extra baggage.

We were really excited about this travel car seat but we’re going to end up returning it. My son really doesn’t like it. He’s almost 3 but only 27 lbs so he’s in the XS size. When in it he says he feels trapped. I think he doesn’t like sitting so low in the seat, plus when his bottom scoots forward after sitting for awhile it makes it uncomfortable around his neck. It’s also a fairly tedious task to strap him in and make sure the seat belt straps are looped in. It did make the airport trip way easier though.
