Greater than one weekI’ve dreamed about replacing our kid’s car seat during travel with this vest since he was a baby. He finally met the height and weight parameters for the small size and we took our first trip…but we just hated the vest! The problems for us: - he is a slim kid and the vest felt like it was floating around him, even after adjusting - the seatbelt clips don’t feel strong at all; like I could bend them with my fingers. How could they hold the lap belt in place in a collision? - the big issue: the shoulder belt kept sliding up to my son’s neck, despite the belt being properly placed, using the crotch strap and him not being an especially wiggly kid - the kicker: my son said it hurt his back It just didn’t feel like it was secure or a good fit. The ONLY situation I’d recommend this vest would be for someone who often takes taxis/rideshare or is on vacation doing so. We generally rent a car on our trips, so in the future it will be worth the hassle of a car seat (we use the foldable Diono radian and found a roller bag at IKEA that it fits into).

> 3 daySo far I love it, and so does my 4 year old. I don’t think I’ll be able to get her back in a car seat ever again, lol! We mainly need this to keep my husband’s pickup truck, which only fits 1 car seat. I also feel better knowing the grandparents will be able to transport our soon-to-be 2 kids without buying another car seat. If we need anyone to pick up our preschooler from daycare, we can have them do so without an extra car seat. And I’m sure when we travel again, it will also come in handy. It is expensive, but I like it so much I’m thinking of buying a second one because it is easiest to just leave it in the car, though the nifty backpack it comes with is convenient. I was definitely apprehensive before buying but I like it more than expected now that I’ve tried it out a couple weeks. Highly recommend!

> 3 dayI really like the idea of this vest for traveling. We are traveling to Florida and I was hoping to only have to bring my daughters car seat. My son just turned 3, weighs 35 pounds and is about 38 inches tall. We got the small and it seemed to fit him well. Unfortunately, he was not happy about putting it on and wanted it off immediately. I think we might try again next year.

> 3 dayThis product is amazing. We use it so much when we RV around the US. SO MUCH easier to use than a car seat!!!

> 3 dayI mainly bought this for travel to keep my autistic son from getting up out of his booster seat. Because it comes with a tether, it works perfectly to keep him in his seat. Its also easy to use and keeps the seat belt off of his neck and comfortably across his lap.

> 3 dayWe like the vest but disappointed in the customer service help. We have left 3 messages over several weeks with NO call back. The vest keeps sliding up from our sons thighs even with that crotch belt on. He basically has to sit motionless in order to keep it still. Every other car seat safety company calls back or replies. So it would get a higher rating but we feel out on a limb with no help.

> 3 dayThis used in combination with a buckle cover (keeps the buckle button from being pushed) is a magical cure for my escape artist. Its also very handy for traveling. Im super pumped to not have to lug a big carseat through the airport, plane, and airport-bus-rental place.

> 3 dayWe bought the ride safer travel vest for our 3.5 year old son for our trip to Vietnam and Cambodia. We knew car seats would be hard to find and would be travelling so much and in so many different vehicles that bringing one from home just wasnt practical. I wanted something to keep my son safe though and found the ride safer vest. I will say that even though my son met the height, weight and age requirements for the size we bought it seems a little big on him and I cant adjust the straps any more so if you have a small built child it may fit better when they are older. It was easy to fit on him otherwise, small enough to pack in our hand luggage and easy to install as we quickly clambered into taxis wanting to get on their way. I thought I was paying for peace of mind and that it would never really be needed but yesterday we were in a head on collision with a motorbike. The crash was enough to set off the cars airbags but my son, in his ride safer vest slept through the whole thing and stayed safe on his seat. I am so thankful that he is fine, that he didnt see the crash and aftermath which would have been very traumatic for him and I am so so thankful I bought the ride safer vest!
