> 3 dayWriting this review as a beginner roller skater who hasn’t tried many wheels yet. I bought these to replace the wide derby wheels that came stock with my skates. Been skating with them daily for a month. The Zen Sonars are a decent wheel at a good price. Best surface is smooth concrete. They perform pretty good on the brushed finish concrete at my local park as well. Small gravel & small twigs aren’t really an issue but things get gnarly with bigger debris. I don’t like them on rough asphalt or the wide gaps on my local sidewalks. I don’t have great cushions on my skates so better cushions may help assist the wheels with less vibration, more smoothness on those surfaces. They seem very durable. I do wonder how a softer 78a wheel would perform outside compared to these hybrid wheels.
