Since the inserts are tapered, they get tighter as you try to draw them into the rocker support. This force causes the inserts to mushroom at the top, preventing them from seating flush into the hole, and preventing the bolt head from sitting flush on top of the support. The metal is too soft. I dont think they need to be tapered, since they cant go anywhere once installed. Not all that impressed with it. Needs more development.

I had a serious ticking from idle through 1800 RPM. I picked up a set of these, followed the instructions and now my bike is quiet! Best 15 bucks Ive spent on it ever.

Dont know if these are the originals or not. They seem to work as intended. now with everything else Ive done, at least I know the noises Im trying to hunt now arent coming from the rocker pins.

I didnt notice a huge difference when I installed these but for $15 you cant go wrong with a little preventative maintenance! Every motor I tear into will get a set of these from now on!

If you have a Twin Cam Harley and tired of all the clattering this is the fix. I took my time and it took me about 4 hours from start to test ride. Never heard my bike run so quiet. This is how its supposed to be. You can search hdforums.com for detailed reviews.

Don"t be fooled by others that have copied my kit. There is only one PATENTED top end tapping solution WORLD WIDE!

ROCKOUT rocker shaft inserts solve one of the most annoying problems with the Harley Davidson Twin Cam engine.... that maddening tapping sound that rolls in around 2000-3000 RPM"s & leaves just as quickly as RPMs increase. My research discovered that the noise is caused by the factory"s sloppy fit between the rocker shafts and the hold down bolts meant to keep them in place. The rocker shafts are allowed to side in & out, and rotate, hitting the bolts at high frequency & creating that awful tapping noise. You can see the marks in the hardened bolts from the hammering in the pic above. My inserts fill that gap, locking the shafts in place, stopping the noise.
Tapered for easy installation, professionally made to exacting tolerances so each is virtually identical. Kit includes 4 inserts (and a spare!), 2 Viton O-rings for under the support plates, full instructions & easy installation hardware.

Here"s just one actual review from a customer on the largest online HD forum...

"I had been telling the tech I use at the dealer about the Rockouts. So when I had my bike in there for some work I had him install the Rockouts. The ticking is gone and when the service manager walked by my bike as it was running he stopped and said my bike was the most quiet he had ever heard. Had the tech order some for his bike. In fact I think he said he ordered a set of 10. I have to agree. None of my previous Harleys were this quiet. FWIW I"m running Woods TW 777 cams and the valve train sounds like a well oiled sewing machine."

Stop that aggravating tapping forever!
