Useless piece of junk! It is meant to be mounted on a wall with studs 16 on center...BUT......the holes are not 16 apart. The whole strip is 32 long so how the hell are you supposed to anchor it when the holes are only 15 apart???? Whoever designed and signed off on this needs to be fired. GARBAGE that does not even deserve one star!

They are short and hardly worth the money. Take a 2x4, buy hooks, screw them on. There, I just saved you $30. Or buy one of these http://www.amazon.com/Lehigh-TH96-6-8-Feet-Storage-System/dp/B0001YLJCS?ie=UTF8&keywords=garage%20hooks&qid=1463574440&ref_=sr_1_11&sr=8-11

Awesome system. I have 4 of varying lengths installed now with a bunch of different hook types. My garage is way more organized now and it freed up a bunch of ground space. Very sturdy, simple to install. High quality hook parts.

The rail is very sturdy but the price of the attachments, not included, is excessive.

Per Lauren, Rubbermaid Consumer Care: We want to appoligize [her spelling] for any inconvenience but the single hooks are only sold in large kits. Thanks! The description states you can add as many accessory hooks as you like but does not disclose that you can not purchase single hooks which are need for small items. Very misleading and inaccurate sales description and poor care of customer.

These things are awesome! They went up in about ten minutes. That’s ten minutes start to finish, not just installing the rail. Each attachment seemed sturdy and feels like it will last awhile. The price is pretty great too.

    1. I have a reasonable IQ, but when it comes to home repair / projects type of stuff, I admit it, I have some limitations. But like most people, I could always use some reorganization in the garage and thus after trying this and that over the years, I came across this product in the store and then purchased it via amazon (by the way, as some folks have mentioned, you can actually get better prices on some of the items at your local store and thus it pays to shop around). 2. My bottomline impressions: * In terms of it being almost dummy proof, no matter what the marketing people state, the achilles heel of any storage system where you need to mount something on the wall is finding the elusive stud. I wont go off on a tangent re: how lame stud finders are, but suffice to say, Ive owned at least 3-4 of them and they are all hit / miss in actually finding the stud. More frustrating is the fact that although home builders supposedly follow some convention in terms of how frequently apart they space the studs, every home Ive lived in doesnt follow that rule. Thus, when the Rubbermaid folks state that the ends of the rail must be attached to a stud, well... that may or may not happen depending on your wall. * The pragmatic bottomline is that despite the above, youre going to have at least one or likely two studs to utilize and then you can then use a decent drywall screw in the other holes. Note: the drywall screws that come with this product are so huge that itll create a massive hole in your wall (I just advise getting a metal drywall screw; ie the one without the plastic sheath). * Other tips: get a bubble level (cheap) and having a powerdrill is handy (its good to have one anyway). * Once you get the rail up, it is really solid, sturdy and equally important (unlike other systems) very very versatile; you can add or take up various attachments so as to hang up other stuff as per your needs over the years. Furthermore, Rubbermaid makes various rail lengths. 3. All in all, a very excellent, simple and flexible organizational tool for the garage... that is fairly easy to set up. Highly recommended.

Worth the money. Fast Track is a nice way to organize the garage. This was an addition to many that we already had.

My garage studs are 16 centers. The rail is 32 long. The instructions direct you to screw to the middle stud first, and when you do so, the 32 length means that the rail doesnt overlap the adjacent studs, nor are there screw holes to attach it. I wonder if the designer has ever used a tape measure before? It worked better to secure it to a horizontal 2x4 properly attached to the studs. I wont buy another of these again, particularly since the hooks bend so easily.

Typical well made and designed Rubbermaid product. Used it for storage in our boat dock closet.
