I use this ssd for my ps5 as an external ssd to store my ps4 games and it works great

Big upgrade from my 2012ish dc powered 5Tb Seagate Backup Plus hard drive. Its quicker than they are but not as quick as I would like naturally. FASTER IS ALWAYS BETTER LOL. Im kidding I went with these because ssd is more reliable for external laptop usage and I really wanted an external ssd with 8TB under $1000 that can be raided in the future. This drive is still limited to usb 3.0 so new macs with thunderbolt 3 wont get that speed but its still usable for my usage. Video guys probably need a thunder bolt 3/4 capable dock with a bunch of raided M.2 PCle x4 Gen3 ssds for that super fast speed I originally sought after. At the time of writing this thunderbolt 3/4 nas or docks are few and far between. The m2 drives also a little too pricey for 8Tb versions, and youd need a few. These SSD are durable you take care of them. One of these 8TB stores my 3TB of data and the other as a Time Machine - backs up the 3TB the first initial time in like 6-8 hours but daily incremental changes now back up in like 3 minutes versus 25 minutes like before. I use my old 5TB hard drives as a water fall time machine now and I cant even get one initial backup to complete in daily use time of my laptop so I have to run it over night.

I installed this disk in a POS ( cash register ) system. it works great but migration software only allow you to copy one drive like drive C. it wont copy any other drives at the same time. my POS software is installed in drive A. so i tried using other migration software but it didnt work properly. I had to copy drive C by migration and make a partition afterwords and reinstall POS software.

This is a very nice SSD with huge capacity for the price. Upon testing with Blackmagic Disk Speed test on my M1 Mac Mini, I found that speeds are initially excellent (450 MB/s write and 455 MB/s read), but writes drop off dramatically once the SLC fills.

Gaming performance-wise, I didnt see much of an increase. Only difference in gaming I seen was loading into a game faster, but its kinda hard to tell since I wasnt having performance issues. Where it REALLY becomes noticeable is when my computer went from taking 10 minutes to completely reboot to dang near 10 seconds AND it transfers/downloads files much faster too! I wish I got one of these sooner...

Needed to up grade my PS4 for storage space. Increased response time and game performance overall. Best upgrade for the money.
