The Samsung T7 Portable SSD 500GB is perfect for backing up my iMac (Late 2013). My backup of a little over 99GB took about 95 minutes with ExFat format via a usb-A port but when I reformat to APFS format, the same backup took only 75 minutes. I am happy with that performance until I upgrade to an iMac with Thunderbolt 3 speed.

This thing is awesome! Super lightweight, can pack in anywhere for traveling, and it doesnt get very warm at all. I use it on my Xbox One S. Load times for my games that I transferred to it were cut drastically. No longer am I the last player to load into a match or fast travel to a mission. My only regret is that I didnt buy the bigger storage version and put all my games on it. Deffinately recommend for any gamer looking to reduce load in times.

Convenient, fast, and handy. I can connect it to my phone or computer. I love that I can put it in my pocket and access stuff on my phone when Im away from the computer.

I wrote and erased a few hundred GB to the drive over three months, and after I started my laptop this morning, the entire drive was completely unusable. I cant write to or read it from Windows 1122H2, Ubuntu, or Android 12. Irreplaceable data is now lost forever due to Samsungs incompetence.

No heat issues at all used in Tesla Model Y for dashcam recording. There was a firmware update for it (Aug 2020) when initially plugged into my Windows 10 PC, which installed without issue. The drive is much more compact than a regular 2.5 SSD in an external case would be, and only requires a compact USB-C connection. It comes with both USB 3.2 spec USB C-C and USB A-C cables, which youll need for top speed transfers, assuming your PC supports USB 3.2 as well. Using a cheap USB 2.0 or 3.0 spec cable may restrict you to <480 Mbps.

XBox One S wouldnt recognize drive. Tried another cable, tried all USB ports. Ordered an Adata SD600Q, recognized and Xbox formatted drive fine. Returning.

I bought this to hold my local copies of my work. The 3 requirements I had are fulfilled by this device: Be fast, Be big enough, And be large enough to find on the table or in my bag.
