Mostly for considerations of space, r/w speed, size, durability and a bit for what I think might be greater reliability, Ive been moving from magnetic to SSD external hard drives. Samsung and Sandisk T7s (formerly the T5s) Extreme Pros are my go-tos have four or five. Recently, when I was looking for a 2 TB drive, this showed up at the right price. Were all going to wait a while for a reasonable on the Thunderbolt3-speed drives. Liked the padding, which doesnt make it very much bigger.

Read and write speeds are very good. Size is perfect and also the rubbery body provides the friction to hole it perfectly.

The software does not allow cut and paste for passwords. My password generator used characters like O,0,1,l,and I. It can be hard to determine which character is actually being used. I usually cut and paste passwords, but I mis-interpreted some of the generated password when keying them in and didn’t catch it in time. I ended up wiping the drive to re-set the password.

I like the speeds garnered from this SSD.

I am usually disappointed with external USB 3.0 SSDs hard drives. They promise speed and fail to deliver. After the initial burst, the write rate goes below 10mb/s and consistently hovers in the single digits. The speed reduces to a crawl, when the SSD fills up. . Fortunately, this model is the exception. I am averaging twice the speed. With its small size and rubber armor, the item is perfect.

Easy to use,fast and portable just as advertised. Buy it whenever on sale...regular purchase price is too much. Prices are dropping.

This 4TB portable storage device is an outstanding option for anyone in need of a reliable, fast, and durable solution. Many YouTube reviews showcase its impressive speed capabilities, making it a top choice for on-the-go storage/or quick local backup storage (do some research). When purchasing, ensure you have the appropriate connection port, IE: as a minimum USB of 3.2 Gen 2 for optimal performance. Additionally, if you require a longer cable, be sure to use the correct one to maintain optimal speed and functionality. Remember up-to 1050MB/s does not mean that is what you will see. On my Laptop, I average around 900MB/s and I bought my laptop pre-pandemic, I am satisfied with the speed of the drive.
