SanDisk 2TB Extreme Portable External SSD - Up to 550MB/s - USB-C, USB 3.1 - SDSSDE60-2T00-G25

This disc arrived when promised and was extremely well packed. It is amazing to get such a good capacity device in such a small physical size. It literally fits in my wallet so I can take lots of files with me and it doubles up as a backup in case the house is robbed and the laptop and tablet stolen. Cloud backup doesnt work for me because broadband is only 3Mbps and takes hours to deal with even just incremental changes. Ths SSD technology is vastly superior to USB sticks for the kind of use I make of it. Thoroughly recommend this product. PS: I use encryption software also on any sensitive files in case Im mugged and my wallet stolen!!

Brilliant product from Sandisk, bought a couple now. I use one of mine as an external boot drive for Mac OS on my older 2013 iMac, as well the usual file transfer etc. They just work, and work very well.

The drive itself is fine, no problems. But the price is a little on the expensive side. I guess it evens out with the speed, and durability of the drive.

Got this to load MacOS 11 Big Sur, which went fine, but this drive just keeps disconnecting without warning, forcing me to unplug & then plug it back in. Worse, itll disconnect after I just selected to boot off of it during the restart, forcing me to go through the loading of my internal system, Catalina. I then have to unplug/plug, boot, repeat.

temperature could be bad long term. but i use it for backups so no biggie

If I use this for more than a few minutes at a time, it gets warm enough to make me concerned about the stability of the data, but seems to be OK.
