I use these in a GoPro thats mounted on a 5 inch FPV drone. If you fly FPV then you know you crash a lot. These cards have survived many many crashes. I get great video recording in 4k or 2.7k, whish is usually what I record at. The Hero 9 can record 5k video and this card plays 5k video back on the Hero 9 just fine, but Ive only recorded in 5k once just to try it out. Just make sure youre getting the right card. Its confusing at first when you start looking for SD cards for 4k video. Make sure youre getting U3 A2 rated cards. A1 rated cards wont record 4k video and for some reason Sandisk makes the cards look alike.

Unfortunately, the computer for which I ordered this card as an on-going back up device for its TF slot was defective and had to be returned, so apart from reformatting it as NTFS I havent really used it for anything else since purchasing it. [Its way too much space for my camera unless I want to start shooting massive amounts of video.] I rated the packaging as 2 because the envelopes that SanDisk uses require scissors for cutting cardboard. It seems like they could use a pull-tab to make it easier to open the envelope before removing the plastic enclosure. Why is that important? Because the license number for the recovery software is printed on the envelope. Licenses can be activated in sequence, so you need to save the envelope, so somehow document your collection of licenses.

For this review, I will be testing with a Transcend RDF8 card reader. This reader tops out at around 93MB/s for sustained reads and writes (short bursts can reach 97MB/s), thus it is not capable of testing the max read speed of the micro SD card, but if it can consistently saturate the card reader across the drive, then it is a good indication of a genuine card.

Purchased the 128GB version of this card for use on a GoPro Hero8.
