GREAT PRODUCT, Highly recommend. The quality of this product is outstanding. The materials provided from the hardware, to the actual mounting brackets are all very high quality. The instructions provided are easy to follow and there is a video demo to walk you thru it all. I actually bought a different model Sanus from Costco and when I went to install it found out the studs over my fireplace were not the typical 16 inches on center. I ended up returning the product but frankly really liked the quality of their product. I called the customer service people and explained the dimensions I had to work with, the type of TV I had, and she was able to offer me a few options. I went with the vlt6-B1 as I wanted a tilt model and because the mounting brackets would work with my home. If the studs in your home are not 16 inches on center, this is the TV mount you want to purchase. It took me just over 1 hour with a friend to install. This mounting bracket is super strong. It says it is rated for up to 150 lbs, but I think that is a low ball figure. I liked how easy it was to mount the TV into the bracket and how you could hear it “Click” and lock into place. There is room to get your hands behind the TV to remove a HDMI cable and then push it back into position. The viewing angle was easy to adjust. Overall I would highly recommend not only this particular TV mount, but SANUS as a company as this product is well engineered and thought out. The price I felt was very good for the quality of this product at $136 it may be a little higher price than some, but well worth it.

This is the 4th one of these mounts that Ive purchased over the last several years. I ve used them in two Media Rooms and two Living Rooms for 65 televisions. They are very substantial and the tilt and pan features make it appropriate for various locations.

I was hesitant on spending a good chunk of money on a TV mount. Especially when there are so many that are relatively inexpensive. Fortunately, after doing some research Im very, very happy with this purchase. The mount is packaged well and had all the necessary parts to work on just about any TV. Mine was a 10 year old 46 Samsung with a 400x400 VGA. I used Sanus website to get the exact spot I should mount my TV. Its located above my fireplace so it was a bit tricky. However, their guide worked out real well! With the right tools, drill and ratchet, the hardware went into the studs real easy. Once the mount was sitting on the wall, I was able to life the TV and, essential, drop it into place. It snaps into place and is able to be done with one person... although HIGHLY recommended for two. A nice feature on this mount is the versatility. I can pull it forward several inches, to install wires, and also slide it back and forth to get it exactly in the center of my fireplace. The horizontal sliding was definitely needed as the studs above my fireplace were not centered. Lucky for me, they were still 16 apart. To release the TV, you pull down on two tabs. This feature is nice because its simple and quick. It locks and unlocks without much force. All in all, spend some extra money and get this mount. If you need horizontal movement because of needing to be centered in a room, but no use for side to side action, then this unit is a must. Enjoy!

I bought a new house with a recessed wooden niche area for a tv above the fireplace. When I evaluated the mount left by the previous owner, I came to realize that there were not actually full sized studs behind the wooden trim. The mount left for me came out of the wall pretty far, so I figured that may be a liability and could cause my tv to fall. When I found this Sanus mount, I felt confident that it could do the job with a combination of lag and molly bolts to keep the TV attached to the wood. And since the TV now cant be moved very far from the wall, there will be less weight placed on the top bolts and less risk the TV could fall. I found the instructions to be incredibly well written. It was nice to have many options of what height to install the TV brackets on the back of the TV, so I could work within the space of the recessed TV niche and still make room for my soundbar. It was very easy to mount with two people (because of the size of my tv and the height of the niche) but I bet many people could mount this solo. The tilt feature was perfect to angle my TV down slightly for more comfortable viewing at the tall height the TV is at. I felt confident that I could have use additional soundbar brackets with this mount and it would have been able to accommodate the weight, but I ended up not needing them. Highly recommend this mount!

This mount is very easy to install and hang the tv. I like the way it tilts down, I have it on a fireplace over the mantle and then the tilt helps a lot. Easily pulls out enough to organize the cables behind the tv. Also, offers a large amount of flexibility for fine tuning the level of the tv and centering it. I have several Sanus mounts, and it is the only brand I trust.

It is only wide enough to catch 2 studs, unlike the Elite version, but as light as most TVs are you really do not need 3 studs for strength. The Elite version I used on my other TV allows for more tilt side to side, making it even easier to access the Samsung hook ups from the side while in the 7 inch deep cabinet box. I would definitely recommend the Advanced or Elite tilt mounts. The key is the scissor style mounts.

This product (model VLT6-B1) is very strong, and installation instructions are detailed, very clear, and well redacted. The mounting template is an exact match of the backing piece (the base that attaches to the wall) and is made of cardboard, which makes it very convenient for installation since it can be pasted onto the wall (with masking tape or painters tape) for proper positioning, leveling and alignment, and can be left in there while youre finding studs and drilling. Once drilling is complete, the template can be removed and youre left with all the perforations in place, ready to receive the actual backing piece. The assortment of hardware (screws, spacers, washers) is plentiful and allows for many specific configurations depending on the TV. The unit is UL-listed in file number E347672.

I cannot speak highly enough about this product and the companys level of service. I was feeling really intimidated about mounting a 50 TV over the fireplace (getting it level, at the right height, etc). The last time I mounted a TV was 10 years ago. I ordered this VLT6 unit specifically because the TV is an older model and weighs quite a bit (150 lbs). Although it cost quite a bit more than some comparable products, they competitors did not have the weight capacity. The box arrived on time and upon opening I found a very well laid out packing arrangement, with all hardware and the mount arms in a removable rigid cardboard tray, and the wall bracket underneath.All hardware needed to install the unit was fully included and the instruction booklet was very clear about the tools needed for each of the 3 supported mounting surfaces (wood studs, metal studs and concrete block). The manual; was very clear on how to install the arms on the TV and the bracket on the wall. One feature offered on their website is a mounting tool - I cant adequately enough my gratitude for this! You put in the Brand and model of TV you have, where the arms are mounted relative to the TV, how high you want the TV off the ground - the app then computes and displays how high off the ground to drill the top and bottom holes for mounting. This was worth the extra cost of the product for me - I could have wasted a lot of time measuring and calculating where to put the holes and probably getting it wrong a couple times. With the app, I was right on target for where I wanted to be. Mounting was simple, just lift, hang and lock the bottom in place. Next time I need a mount Im going w/ Sanus and will recommend to anyone who asks.

Probably a little OCD and a little problem with instruction interpretation made for a slow start. In my situation, it was important to determine where the bottom of the tv in relation to floor or other obstacle whereas instructions are more center oriented. Tip: using Heightfinder tool, find approximate height then change result “middle “ to “bottom” and edit number in height from floor. It will automatically adjust figures for top and bottom holes to drill. The bottom of your tv will be very close to perfect position and there are provisions for fine adjustments. While Sanus could not anticipate builders who place outlets too high or not centered once I realized height above floor was critical the rest fell into place.
