SANWA GT-C Round Joystick Restrictor Circular Plate JLF Series Joystick and Other Similar Size Arcade Joystick (2 Pcs GT-C)

I tried the octagonal & did not like it one bit, so the Ive decided to stick with the square but after 3 years Ive finally ordered the round gate here on amazon & yes, you cant go wrong with circular, the feel is just like how I remember it at the arcades.

Grabbed this gate with my Mayflash F500 Elite and Im really glad I did. To be honest, I didnt realize how much I missed the HAPP style feel till I tried this out. I was transported back in time to the late 80s... Gun n Roses was on the radio at the bowling alley & I could barely make out my friend through all the cigarette smoke. It was glorious... then my cell phone rang and when I came to, I was typing out this review. Great product so far!

Till this day I do not understand why so much people that are looking for a close to real arcade experience in the Arcade 1up scene still prefer to use the octagonal gates instead of these circular plates. Yes they are hard to execute diagonal jumps for fighter games but thats how the real arcades were. Suzo Happ joysticks are circular at least thats how I remembered it and these simulate that very experience and well. The octagonal gates have this bumpy feeling when doing circular motions like to execute a hadoken move for example. All I know is that although it is harder to perform diagonal moves, it makes up for it doing circular moves and as I mentioned before, this is what the real Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat cabinets of the 90s were using so if you want that authenticity then you really should check these out. Perfect fit for my Mayflash F500. Added a 2lbs spring and an oversized accuator to make it as close as I can to how old SF2 cabinets felt

Its great. But i perfer the 8 gated version.
