love this hard to find color

High sheen, and a color similar to gold leaf. A great additional to my watercolor palette.

Awesome paint. Havent met a Schmincke I didnt love yet. The horadam line. I see they have an academy line, too. Theyre probably awesome too, but I dont even want to try after having the Horadams. I like different brands for different things that I do and after seeing some of Genine Zlatkis works...using these paints, I was off to collect them for my own studio Theyre awfully addictive.

Magnificent quality, Schmincke is in a class of its own.

This paint is professional quality, however there are much better sepia shades out there then this one, mine was very badly cracked and flaky when I received it,and compared to my other sepia colours it just isnt the best. I recommend royal talens Rembrandts sepia instead.

Not as vibrant as in the picture! But the granulation is beautiful, I would recommend Arteza over these however.

compact, convenient, and a must have for traveling artists. I have not used liquid oxgall before but after this, I see little reason to try. I just do a few swipes with a slightly damp brush and mix it in with whatever color I am using and I am pretty much guaranteed to have a perfectly smooth wash of paint. It works well with granulating pigments, I have found, the pigments in Daniel Smiths moonglow has a tendency to separate as it dries if its too wet. With the oxgall the pigments stayed combined and dried evenly. I feel I should also point out that the pans from Schmincke is slightly shorter than the standard half pans I have. However, they do not taper at the bottom. The difference is not huge or even a problem, but it is noticeable if you have a mix of pans in your palette.

I love all Schmincke watercolors...my “go to paint” choice. The colors and quality are the best!

I was in the mood for a nice BRIGHT pink. This is it! The paint is good quality, mixes well, and is just fun to play with. Goes a long way toward beating the late winter blahs.
