> 3 dayThis is a great product although this is the first time I am using it. I used to use activated carbon that comes with filter refills. Matrix carbon is much superior in performance and delivers better results. I have a bio filter submersed in the tank ( not a bio filter in the mechanical filter).

> 3 dayEvery Seachem product Ive ever bought has some form of tamper seal. Even Matrix Carbon Ive bought in the past. First bottle has no tamper seal, replacement bottle was the same, both covered in carbon reside on the outside of the bottles. So dont know if Seachem changed their packing practices for Matrix Carbon or what the issue is. I however wouldnt use any product in my aquarium that doesnt have a tamper seal on it. Seachem is great overall but cant give this anything other then 1 star because of the condition it arrived in.

> 3 dayAs with most other Seachem products this one is no different. I am using this in my Fluval 307 canister filter for my 45 gallon freshwater aquarium. I have decided to go with this to save on spending money on the Fluval charcoal inserts. So far I have been pleased with the performance of this product. I am using nylon bags in my filter and I have had no problems.

> 3 dayThe carbon spheres are tiny. I tried to use them in one of my internal filters to remove some tannins out of my tank but since they’re so small, it fell right through the sponges and out of the filter grates. The space it the filter is limited so I can’t put it in a fine mesh media bag and shove that in the filter. I ended up having to cover the grates with filter floss so it wouldn’t fall out but that only means I’ll have to swap them out every time compared to using the sponges the filter came with. I’m sure seachem’s carbon is better than most but they really should make them in larger grain sizes
