> 3 dayHave been using this for some time now and detected no changes to stabilizing water or improving tank stability. I still add it just in case - because I have terrible water problems and hope this helps with the water cycle. I notice no difference. Also for those cycling a tank - do NOT cycle with fish in it, a far better way is to use household ammonia instead of fish to start the cycle going. Look online for the exact amounts of ammonia to add each day - and you actually make the ammonia rise and fall multiple times along with the nitrites until your last dose cycles and both ammonia and nitrites are zero. At that point is when you want to do a water change to get rid of the left over nitrates and just generally get the aquarium ready for your fish. Make sure it is just plain ammonia, nothing with a detergent added. No risk to killing your fish or sacrificing cheap fish to cycle the tank - how cruel and stressful to the fish. My tank lost its cycle probably due to adding too many fish at once. but Stability didnt help - 2 months of trying to get it to cycle and its just now producing nitrates - I feel bad for my fish who have had to suffer through this - if you do have fish in your tank make sure you use Prime daily (they say 48 hrs but I did it daily to be safe). When my ammonia reach 8 ppm I purchased AmGuard which very slowly has help lowered my ammonia levels.

> 3 dayI started using this right before I broke down and moved my tank to a different location in the house. I used about 4 gallons of water from the old tank, new planted substrate (Eco Complete) and some plants. I added this per the instructions and I havent had any spikes in ammonia. I can credit some of that to the old water, reusing the filter media(Aquaclear), the plants, and the live bacteria in the substrate, but I think it helped. Ive also been using it in my smaller tanks and noticed smaller than usual spikes in parameters. A good purchase, and Ill continue to use this and Prime.

> 3 dayTo clarify this is what you use to start the bacterial cycle in a new fish tank and boost an already established tank. It is used to help break down solid waste in a tank and help prevent bad bacterias from developing. I just started a 55 gallon tank with 10 two year old goldfish and we all know how dirty those fish are... I started my tank with this bio bacteria and it works great. You shake the bottle and you hear some carbonated fizzing from the active bacteria and pour a few caps of this directly into your filters to start the process and it will keep your fish from dieing because of New tank syndrome IE all your fish die a horrible death because of chemical spikes. This stuff works miracles in helping to break down solids quickly and keeping fish healthy. It will make your water milky for a day or so because of a HEALTHY bacterial spike and then it levels out and the balance is found naturally. It is the best thing you can buy for a healthy tank and healthy fish. I can not sing the praises of this enough. Totally hooked on Seachem Stability for life. If you have a 55 gallon tank or bigger buy 2 of the 500ml bottles because I wish I did. I used 1/4 of a bottle in a week starting my tank and its a good idea to put a cap full in your filters after you wash them to get the bio filtration action going again. So over a year you will definitely use up a whole bottle maybe more depending on how much you feel you need it. And if you suffer a disaster and have to do a total water change you need this to keep your fish alive in a non established tank.

> 3 dayI use this to fishless cycle my tanks. I combine it with Dr. Tims Ammonium Chloride. By doubling or trippling the dosage on both of these, I can fully cycle my tank in 7-12 days and its AWESOME! If you dont know what Im talking about, its very important that you study the Nitrogen Cycle and learn what it does in a fish tank before you buy any fish. I also use it when adding new fish just to make sure my beneficial bacteria colony stays strong and stable. And it really does keep things stable!

> 3 dayStability is a great product to help quickly start your cycle. Cycle of a tank goes down to a week unstead if 6-8 weeks. Go slow adding fish still as the cycle is still new. Great product

> 3 dayI always have my seachem products stocked at all times. Ive in an emergency had to cycle a 60g Adult African Cichlid tank and had no casualties, thank goodness. One thing I do want to make clear, this will not instantly lower Ammonia, Nitrites or Nitrates. Stability helps by shortening the time it takes for your tank to cycle. In order to keep your readings down and your fish alive, ANY Fish, you must also use Prime. Prime does not rid your tank of Ammonia Nitrites or Nitrates but binds them so they are not toxic, for roughly 48hrs. So please do not buy this product thinking it will keep your fish alive. It is one of a combination of products that will or do.

> 3 dayDoing research on this product I knew going into it this would be very much a hit or miss outcome. For me, it was a miss, but a mild miss so far. I recently set up a 125 gallon aquarium. On a Sunday I filled it and added the initial dose of Stability. On Wednesday I added a large number of live plants (rooted, non-rooted, stem, and floating) in addition to a school of 10 Harlequin Rasboras. On Friday I did a water test and thought all was well, 0 ppm Ammonia, 0 ppm Nitrite, and 5 ppm Nitrate which is the lowest reading the API liquid test will show. I added a school of 6 Peppered Corys. On Saturday I did the last final dose of Stability, giving a full 7 days of use. By Monday however things went backwards with 0.25 ppm Ammonia, and zero for the rest. Tuesday up to 0.5 ppm Ammonia and again zero on the rest. So for me, this product only worked while I was using it and didnt sustain long afterwards. The directions confirm a theory of mine. I believe it may contain a bacteria that does do the nitrogen cycle, but is not able to reproduce in the aquarium. Thus it establishes at a certain level of ammonia production, and slowly dies off. It is the only way I can explain why the instructions direct the continued use of this product with a monthly dose, and a dose whenever any fish are added. I can see adding a dose with new fish, but the monthly maintenance has to be there for a reason... Without that initial small reading of Nitrates I would of said this product didnt work at all and my live plants are the reason Ammonia has stayed low. Since I do have live plants in this tank (and a lot of them) I cant say definitively that this product worked or didnt work so Im afraid this review may not be all that helpful. I just wanted to share my experience and state that using this product and following the directions, I did not get a cycled aquarium meaning constant 0 ppm Ammonia and Nitrite.

> 3 dayI was starting a new tank and did some research on how to get through the first cycle faster/easier, so I found this. I started a 20g fresh water, heavily planted tank, and threw this in along with seachem Prime. I let the water sit for 1 day, then went and got 9 neons and some more plants. dosed with Stability daily through the first month. Never lost 1 fish. I tested weekly and everything was staying A-OK, so on the second week, which is when it would normally be most dangerous - I even went and got some shrimp because i felt like the water was safe. So it has been 1 month and I never lost anything and tank is thriving. Plants are growing (thanks to plant lights and co2) Not sure if i can attribute this 100% to Stability - but I would do it the same way again and I would not start a tank without it now. Im continuing to dose with it daily for now.
