So, we moved into our house just about a year ago. At that time, as part of inspection, the septic tank was pumped. I use these, one per each of our two toilets, twice a month, because both of us use the bathroom (and toilet paper-Scott only) frequently due to chronic medical conditions. We also have family visiting us frequently. That being embaressingly added here, we have had NO issues or backups or smells. I also like the fact that it is made in USA! Highly recommended product. It smells like soy sauce to me, but the package warns you to avoid breathing it and prolonged skin contact (for one of the previous posters commenting on the smell). Just wash hands immediately, or wear gloves. Please DONT leave it within reach of children or pets!!!

Have purchased this item again because it appears to keep the septic tank emptied and working at a good healthy level, saving the cost of needing to call to have the tank emptied as often. Would recommend purchase as the product seems to work better than others tried. Husband prefers this product.
