Serif CraftArtist Baby Photos

This product does not have a lot of utility unless additional downloads are purchased. Based on the products description and packaging, I expected the software to include more design options.

Its hard to say much about this product. To my tastes, its kitsch and underwhelming. I find its final output to be quite dated, but it may be right up some peoples street; theres certainly plenty of business for high street studio photographers. The software is neither easy nor hard to use. The interface is not a delight, but neither is it awful - just usable.

Im not really sure what I was expecting but for Serif this product appeared to be lacking. The product itself is intended as a way to produce various things with baby photos - calendars, invitations, scrap books. It does it all okay although there arent many templates included before you have to purchase add-ons. As a gimmick for perhaps grandparents its pretty good and there is definitely a market there but its not for the more advanced users hoping for some really clever addons to sit alongside Photoshop or similar.

OK, I tend to usually do most of my photo work on Photoshop, yet getting a nice image is all well and good but not an essential when you want to put something together on a creative background. What this software does is allow you to create anything from a scrap book through to invites for Christenings etc. Its easy to use, it has some great options and to be honest can have quite a quick turnaround with various baby themed projects.

Having a toddler I thought this was a great item to receive from Amazon Vine. From installing to using the product is easy to use. Installation has all the prompts you need about where to install it to etc, so thats fine. The first time you try to navigate your way around the software it can be tricky but if youre used to using Microsoft Publisher this will help.

Craft artist is a self explanatory piece of software that is fairly easy to use for the novice.

Perhaps I didnt read the description right, but I was disappointed to load this then find out I had todownload pretty much all the embelishments/templates

Serif as a company usually offer some of their older software as free downloads hoping after you have tried them you will come back and purchase the latest up to date versions, I must admit this tactic has worked for me as I have ended up purchasing several items of software over the years, especially when I have been tempted with a special bundled offer, their email marketing can sometimes be a bit much, but I have always found their software to be good.

I got this as a present for a friend who has recently had a baby. She was pretty happy with it as it is easy to use; like other Craft Artist products it is similar to Microsoft Publisher and Paint.NET. She can edit her baby photos, and present them on pretty backgrounds for scrapbooking, and plans to use this to create her own christening invitations.
