Ive ordered a few sets of Tulip needles now, and honestly they just sew like a dream. Im pretty hard on needles, and do a lot of cross stitch projects with thick colorfills, and these are the best. Theyre just sharp enough to glide through dense cross stitch, but not enough to easily split the aida. Theyre not as long as a lot of embroidery needles, which I actually prefer- it feels more maneuverable. And unlike cheaper needles, if they start to feel a little rough, a quick polish with a emery pincushion will have them gliding smooth as butter. Attached picture is of a needle thats soldered through about five square inches of sewing like a champion.

Im working on a cross stitch piece and needed new needles because the ones I was using were just too sharp which caused the Aida to split when piercing it. It was maddening. I just thought I could use any old needle, which you totally can, but to have a needle specifically for cross stitch really showed me why people recommend certain needles for certain jobs. I ordered the sizes 22 and 24 of the Tulip Hiroshima needles and they slide through my 18-count Aida like BUTTER. There is no snagging, no hang-ups, nothing... Just smooth, happy times! I would definitely recommend these for 14-18-count Aida. Its been blissful to sew with them!

These needles are great. I can feel the difference between these and other brands. These needs are smooth, sturdy, and easy to thread. I would highly recommend these for any cross stitch. I ordered the size 24 to be used on 14 count aida.
