> 24 hourI bought this 2yrs ago. Before it even arrived - I tore a back muscle. I attempted to use it anyway, cuz Im stubborn-stupid that way. I couldnt control the dang thing. FFWD 2yrs - after a year of bedrest I survived by some miracle, plus another year of gentle healing - theres some permanent weirdness that remains, affecting my physical abilities to a degree, but I get by... whether recommended or not. I finally was able to pull this thing out to use it, mostly unimpeded, for the 1st time. Sadly, its still *just* too - insert important function detail here. Its *just* too short to be able to rest my hand on it to stabilize the bottom when I have the wand out (only 1 room in my house has carpet). Forcing me to either bend partially, painfully, or carry it. While its pretty light, carrying it is not ideal - with or without a bad back. Bending is just not gonna happen. The hose is *just* too short to keep it stable on the ground when using the wand. If I even *think* about just pulling out the handle - the too short hose & awkward curve at the top of the handle where the too long tube begins, forces a teisty-bendy removal method which causes it to tip over - just cause it can. This instability is exasperated by it having *just* too strong sucking power. I know, weird thing to complain about. But when looking at the whole picture, it makes sense. Combining the super suction with the too short hose, too long tube, & too short body - you got a thing that instantly flops all over the place - unless you carry the body. Without a bad back, that may be a moot issue. However... The handle sucker (for lack of a better word) is either too short if used without an attachment. Or entirely too long - requiring some to use 2 hands to control the detached handle. It becomes absolutely impossible to use without carrying it when an attachment is added - the attachment being pretty required. The too long handle (with attachment - too short & just useless without) combined with the super sucking - requires precision aim & control - unless you dont mind it trying to suck up your curtains, throw rug, anything else not nailed down in the general vicinity. The awkward curve where the hose meets the handle then turns into the solid tube - further complicates the instability of the entire thing. Even when carrying this thing, using the handle is a nitemare, at best. Best case scenario - this might be a great item for a healthy/strong, dwarf/little person - whatever the proper word is, I truly have no idea what the current correct name is & mean no insult. It is also great if used strictly on carpet - the handle & attachments never being utilized. But, vacuuming anything other than carpet will be as if youre in a hand to hand battle. You WILL find yourself scolding it within minutes. At 1 point, I used my 18 mechanic wheeled chair to sit on as I sucked up the accumulating cat hair cuz my kids are allergic to basic maintenance. Even at that level, using the wand had the too short, too lightweight body dramatically falling to the side before I even turned it on. The good - when using solely on carpeted floor, it will take a minute/2 to get used to the super suction power. Once you do, youll adore this thing. It moves smoothly around on the carpet. Bending & dipping further than ever to get those little hidden spots. Until you have to empty the tiny waste bin after every small section that is completed. If I had to recommend this for anyone - a young, uninjured, strong, college student (of any height) living in a small dorm room would be the only person/lifestyle/living situation I can think of for whom this thing would suffice. Only thing needed would be some upper body strength to be able to carry the body of this while maintaining control of the handle sucker when using that feature. The small dorm room being about the size the dust bin can handle with each fill. I strongly recommend one checks the height measurements of the body of ANY vacuum one is looking to possibly buy & make sure a hand can easily touch the body when the handle is in use. At the very least. I learned the expensive, hard way how critical that prior unknown detail would be. I have a $250 i-dont-know-what-to-do-with-it thing taking up space as I continue to use my decade old, 50lb Dyson that I can easily lean on.

> 24 hourThis is the best vacuum I have ever owned, and I have owned (and discarded!) many. I have finally come to the conclusion that there are 4 critical factors a vacuum must have for me to use it for more than a couple of years: good cleaning ability (good air flow, not suction); good maneuverability around furniture so that I am not fighting with the machine as I move it from room to room; versatility - easy to switch between cleaning tools so that I can get under furniture, dust surfaces, and clean crevices without a lot effort that interferes with my work flow; and ease of keeping the machine itself clean. It has taken me an embarrassingly long time to realize how important this last factor is. Pets (and people) create odors, and these odors build up in the machine and make the whole house stink unless you regularly clean the filters. I was actually on the verge of purchasing a $1,500 water filter vacuum so I could add a deodorizer to the water tank. Well, thank goodness I decided to try the Shark Rotator instead b/c it delivers BIG TIME on filter and dust cup cleaning. The filters are very easy to access and keep clean, unlike other machines I have owned. The ENTIRE dust cup opens up so that there are no nooks, crannies, and tornado-shaped tunnels that are impossible to reach and all you can do it watch that fine vacuum dust build up over the years b/c the manufacturer tells you that you are not to rinse out those tunnels under any circumstances! (How frustrating, and another expensive machine lands in the dumpster.) I have only had the Shark Rotator for a couple of weeks, but I think it is a winner! I have used it daily since it arrived (two cats, one dog.) This in itself is a miracle as I do not enjoy house cleaning. The Shark Rotator is so easy to maneuver and switch between cleaning modes that is (almost) a pleasure to vacuum. When I need to get under the beds, I just press the lift-away button. When I need a crevice tool, I just release the handle and pop on the dust/crevice tool, which rides on-board! BTW, I havent needed to use it in canister mode, which gives easy access to even more on-board tools, but may do so in future. Then I empty the dust cup (there is always a lot more in there than I would expect from just 24 hours of living) and wipe it down inside and out. Done! I have also owned a Shark Navigator for several years, and am very happy with it. It is a great little pick it up quick machine, and it is the one that taught me about filter cleaning. I have come to conclusion that Shark offers the best value on the market of all the vacuum cleaner manufacturers currently out there. If I had the chance, I would ask for just two improvements on my Rotator: a slightly longer (or more flexible) hose that would allow me to move further away from the machine in lift-away mode and a relocation of the power cord to keep it away from my feet. I step on the cord more than I would like, even with the cord inserted into the clip that is provided for this purpose. But, these are minor details only.

> 24 hourHose split at the base of the vacuum. Called support, they identified the issue by specific name, and then hung up on me. It was almost like they knew what I was talking about… no luck getting much help, but it worked great whenever we had it. The lights identify every single speck, every single dog hair.

> 24 hourOMG. I love this vacuum. If you want a video, I highly recommend going to sharks website and watching their promotional videos. You will be totally sold. The canister comes off the stick part of the vacuum with the press of the button (ok, you also have to lift, its not automated). But then it operates as a canister vacuum, like 1950s. Its amazing. You can either hold the canister (which isnt too heavy and is convenient for quick clean ups in tight spaces) or you can put the canister on the caddy (and bingo, you have R2D2 following you to save the galaxy, or at least your carpets). This baby has a million amazing attachments (ok, only like 4 or 6, but still) and a bag to store them in (because lets face it, Ill lose them if I have to keep them all on the vacuum). The controls are on the handle, at my fingertips. Bless the person who put the on/off switch at my fingertips, because really, when the vacuum ends up with a bag up its nose, i need that switch pronto. The switch for different carpet pile is also there, and really simple. Swapping out accessories is sooooooooo easy, it takes the hassle out of cleaning. Like seriously. I am no domestic goddess, but I can actually use this thing. Theres a light on the handle for when you use dusting attachments. Bless the designers, because we all know when dusting, its never the well lit beautiful places that need the TLC. And its a nice bright light. Its got a HEPA filter on this thing, so no more breathing dusty air when you vacuum. Im sorry, but thats one of the reasons I dont like vacuuming. I have a tiny dustbuster (we all know the ones. Theyre designed to look cute and portable, but standing behind them and having them kick up air that contains half the stuff you were trying to vacuum---excuse me. why vacuum in the first place. PS, inhaling kitty litter dust is the worst) but with this, no kitty litter dust. no nothing. Bless the designer. (Have I said that already?) Emptying this thing is easy too. (I did have to look in the instruction manual, but just because I didnt want to press the wrong button and deploy the dust right there. Dont worry, im 99.9% sure you couldnt do that while its attached). It was really easy too, and super quick. No, I wasnt paid to write this review. This comes from someone who hates stupid upright vacuums and tiny no good dustbusters. I like that it gets into tight spaces. I know it has a cord. I know it looks kinda weird. (the cute R2D2 totally makes up for the weird form it takes in upright). I did get this as the deal of the day, and it was my christmas present. Ive never been so excited about an appliance. (PS, the pet couch accessory, use it in both directions to properly remove hair both from couch and accessory. if you only vacuum one way, youll build up hair on the tool. learn as you go)

> 24 hourI have gone through so many vacuums. I finally decided to invest in a Shark. I have heard nothing but good things about the Shark brands so I thought I would give it a try. Best. Decision. Ever. Its a smooth easy to use vacuum. I have 3 dogs, and it picks up everything! I love the swivel feature and being able to take it apart to vacuum stairs and under furniture. Its easy to clean too. I find it so also be a little bit of a quieter vacuum. Most defiantly a great purchase in my opinion!

> 24 hourI love the suction power, the lighting is great and its very easy to move into tight spaces but that suction will give your back a workout (Think 1970s Kirby!) Overall a great vac for rugs which is what I specifically bought it for. I have a Shark Rocket for dusting and hard floors, much better suited for those tasks. While it doesnt have a double roller like the Rocket, I dont often have to pick up Fruit Loops or life savers like in the videos but again, this makes it a better rug than hard surface tool. Does a great job on long dog hair and the brush roller has a slot to run a knife along to cut it off the roller. It has a large container for debris which is great. The tools it comes with are pretty much useless for me. While the handle is about the same length as the Rocket, it doesnt break in half for a shorter handle so while the suction is better, it isnt practical to use for everyday use on anything but baseboards and curtains. The rotating attachment tool is also pretty useless. It says its powered but its power comes from the air suction so its stopped in its tracks almost all the time on any carpet. For stairs that tool is worthless and trying to use that long wand on the stairs while holding the canister takes a lot of muscle and dexterity, its so much easier to just attach the top of the Rocket handle directly to the vac brush head. That may be possible with this vacuum too but lugging the canister around isnt for me. I cant seem to find a way to attach the cord up high on the handl and find Im bending over to the floor all the time to retrieve it, a pretty big inconvenience. Theres a groove near the top hook where you wind up the cord that looks like it might be made for this, but its not tight enough to hold it there. Instructions are minimal but adequate but things like where the cord goes arent included. Overall it does exactly what I bought it for but is not as easy to use as advertised for other tasks than vacuuming rugs.

> 24 hourI purchased this vacuum to replace another Shark model I had, which did not have as many bells and whistle as this one but was overall a better vacuum. To be fair, I used this vacuum for several days before writing this review to give myself time to get used to it and to thoroughly understand the pros and cons. Ill start with the positives because there are few. Lights! I think lights on a vacuum are a big deal. This one has lights on the power head and, surprisingly, a light on the handle which illuminates when you are using attachments. Great feature. Suction! This has more suction than anyone needs but it deep cleans carpeting and makes it look revived. Okay, on to the places it fell short. First, its advertised as a pet vacuum and yet it does not have the self-cleaning brush roll that resists hair getting tangled around it. I didnt catch this when buying it, and I was very disappointed. I have three dogs, two of them rough coat collies with tons of long hair. The Shark I replaced was a Navigator with self-cleaning brush roll. It did not have lights onboard. I would trade lights for a self-cleaning beater bar any day. As I mentioned above, this thing has major suction. The vacuum is heavy, and the powerhead pulls you forward. When pulling it back, you get a workout. The second problem with suction is that you cant control it manually. There are three settings for this vacuum: hard surface, low pile carpet, and high pile/area rugs. When you choose the surface setting, that is the only suction control you have. There is no little vent that you can adjust to adjust the suction. This was the biggest drawback to this vacuum cleaner for me. I have rubber backed runners all through my house on hardwood. On the area rug setting, they get sucked up. On the hard surface setting, they dont get clean because the brush roll does not spin. With the Shark Navigator with self-cleaning brush roll, I was able to adjust my suction manually, still use the beater bar, and revive my runners between washings. You cant do this with this vacuum. The hose is not long like you see in the advertisement and does not extend very far at all. The vacuum does tip over when using attachments, and the only way to remedy this is employ the lift-off of the canister. The downside is now you have both hands full carrying the canister and using the hand tools. All the advertisements for these vacuums show the vacuum far away and the hose extended up the stairs or someone vacuuming high above a window with the vacuum perched way below. This is false advertising. If you are like me and you have mostly hard surface flooring, this is not the vacuum for you. Its overkill. This vacuum is great on carpeting. Period. Unfortunately, I only have one room of wall-to-wall in my home, and two rooms with wool area rugs. Everywhere else is bare floor with runners and latex back area rugs, which this thing is terrible with (but my last Shark was not). Its burdensome, too powerful to use daily without risk of shoulder injury or fatigue, and the lack of the self-cleaning beater bar for a pet vacuum is very disappointing. At this price point ($290), I am very disappointed in this vacuum. I should have purchased another Shark Navigator with self-cleaning brush roll. I wanted to love this, but I dont for my situation. I paid for lights and a powerhead that drags me and fights me on the return on floors that dont need anything but a self-cleaning brush roll.

> 24 hourThis is the second time that I have purchased a Shark lift-away vacuum and with good reason. The first one lasted for years and was good with the exception of the noise level. This version has a lower sound volume and the suction is stronger. One perk is having two different attachment heads for the furniture, one that is for pet hair and has a bristle brush and the other does not have a brush which is good for mattresses. This vacuum is larger in size and heavier than the old one but it feels like it is almost self propelled when vacuuming. It is very expensive but I had tried and returned two cheaper brands already. This is a keeper!

> 24 hourUPDATE: OK, I was rash to only give this vacuum cleaner 4 stars. It does deserve 5. But I will downgrade my 20 stars to only 15 for the sole, perhaps even petty, reason that they shorted me a crevice brush. The non motorized stair/upholstery brush attachment is actually quite good. Better even thaN the motorized one. It’s smaller and lighter and gets into places the motorized one can’t get into, AND works better! So forgive me my rash trashing of it before I even tried it. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I would normally give this vacuum cleaner 20 STARS, and would have BUT: they skimped on attachments. I have this model, NV 752 that I bought 2 years ago. I have referred it to so many of my friends. It’s quiet (as vacuum cleaners go), light weight, drops dirt and dog hair most of the time into the trash can without having to dig it out, moves easily across carpet and even if you don’t put it in hard floor mode, doesn’t scatter dirt or hair, but sucks it up beautifully. I LOVE this vacuum cleaner. BUT when this newer one arrived, I found that the hard floor attachment (on my older vacuum cleaner it’s got its own electric motor, making cleaning stairs a breeze, as well as effective) is only run by air...just like all other vacuum cleaners attachments for stairs. It’s not nearly as effective at picking up or brushing the stairs clean of hair or other debris. Not only that, but the crevice tool on my older vacuum cleaner came with a brush to get into tight spots. So not only did I spend $50 more for this newer version, I got gypped out of two attachments I use regularly. Now, you might be asking why I bothered to order another one. My old one works well, but we have several floors and I like having one on every floor. When my other (Hoover, Dyson, Kenmore, etc.) one gave up the ghost, I wanted to replace it with this shark. I love my old one so much I was willing to pay the additional $50. But when they shorted me of the two best attachments, I kinda blew my top...well, not really, but I’m VERY disappointed. Hence, the 4 stars.

> 24 hourI paid more money for this vacuum for that reason it said it was good for long hair and it does the same thing that my other two vacuums did It would be great if the tools were on board so that every time you need to use them you dont have to go searching for them. And italso would it be nice if it did pick up the long hair like it said it would and not get wrapped around the rollers. I bought this vacuum which was more money because it said it picked up long hair without getting clogged and it pretty much does the same thing that my other two vacuums did and gets wrapped around the rollers
