> 3 dayBulb in my scent warmer went out after 10years and it was a pain to find the right replacement bulb. Finally found these and they work great. And with four bulbs in the pack I don’t think I’ll ever have to buy more!

Greater than one weekI discovered a while back that of all the bulbs I have tried, halogens seem to be the best at efficiently putting IR radiation (heat) where it is needed for reptiles. I accidentally broke the lens on one once and noticed it put out more heat. It seems that most glass partially absorbs certain wavelength of IR to some degree. This bulb actually does a better job at providing heat to my bearded dragon than the small 25w ceramic IR bulbs that I tried, which sends heat in all directions. The only downside is that that the glass lens absorbs quite a bit of IR. I deliberately broke and removed the lens from one to test IR transmission through glass. To my surprise at several inches away, the one with the lens intact raised the temperature of the surface to 145F and the one with the lens removed raised the temp to 165F. Because animals absorbs IR better than most dry materials, the difference was even more noticeable when I measured the surface temperature of my bearded dragon. After it had been under the one with a lens for some time at a distance of 10 inches, it was at about 95F, but after switching to the one with the lens removed, it measured 101F, which is almost perfect for a dragon. Keep mind however that this is supplemental heat. I also have a 70w metal halide at about 16 inches away, but it does not provide enough heat. This bulb almost makes up the difference, but I think I will upgrade to the 35w which will be a more optimal combination. Also, I used a color changing UV test card both with and without the lens, and there was no difference, but in both cases the UV output was very low and barely registered and is nothing compared to the UVB output of the metal halide.

> 3 dayI was ordering replacements for lighting in my retail storage. The old bulbs had no information on them so I was very unsure of what I was looking for. The two prong piece was what I needed and they worked perfectly. Thank you! They lit up the store just in time for an ART & WINE Event.

Greater than one weekRead the lifespan carefully. It states 1.5 years at 3 hours a day. I used them in a business that is open 9 hours a day 250 days a year. All but one of the bulbs that I installed in Dec 2017 have burned out. The cost isnt so bad, but it is such a hassle to change them in track lighting.
