It helps keep junk from filling up in that area and gives you a nice place to set phones. And also allows you to hide items under it. I like how it has the rubber mats in the tray compartments to keep stuff from sliding around and they are removable for easy cleaning.

> 24 hourI really liked the space layout on this tray, but I didnt like the edges. It felt like it sat a little high(even when it was flushed down). The edges on the back corner, not sure why they didnt make it just round off instead of those notches.. and that center notch in the back.. The edges felt sharp on the one I got. Ended up returning this one and getting another design that sat flush and no sharp edges. It even had the hole to put a cable through if you wanted to run your charging cable under the tray.
