I really enjoyed this book. It was better and better after each page turn. Toward the end, I couldnt put it down!

I am not normally a reader of romance novels. I usually read thrillers or mysteries. But I figures why not try it, it is free. I really was surprised by this book and enjoyed it.I not being a romance novel fan actually liked the way the book did not end all Candy and Roses. But just like the other reviewer did not care for the spoiled brat lil sister either. I am getting the other books by this auther on my kindle.

This was a very well written book. I loved the way the characters were depicted, sisters devoted to each other until the end.

Charming old book, full of quirky words and descriptive visions of days long gone. It takes your heart and mind directly to the early 1900s when dignity and decency were everyday normal behavior, when family dyanmics exuded and demanded respect. Void of any foul or vile behavior or language of any sort, it is a breath of fresh air. But n my opinion, reading any book from this Author is likewise uplifting. She truly had a talent for making the world a better place.

Love this book! A new favorite. Could not put it down. If we only had more reads like this... heartbreaking.

Not your typical romance novel but I truly enjoyed it. You must enjoy old style books to enjoy this. It is not a typical Harlequin romance.

I will still be feeling this novel tomorrow!! Each page leaves you with desperation, disgust, pity, exuberance...so many emotions!! I dont know what it is about classic novels, but they ( this one especially) is written in such a different tone than books today. It turns you into an emotional wreck because you feel like you are in the story, experiencing each circumstance as if it was happening to you. Iliked this book mainly for that reason but also because it was saucy and very contemporary for the time period. I see this being a book a read over and over.

It took me a while to get into this book because of the flowery writing style of yesteryear but Im glad I kept on with it. After finally getting into the style of writing I was surprised at how this book hooked me and kept me reading it. The ending was not how I wanted this book to turn out though.
