This is a lantern/globe style softbox that will cast a nice even glow into the entire room with no harsh shadows. At 26 inches this is a pretty common size for a lantern, you can find bigger ones but you most often see them this size. Being globe shaped the light basically goes everywhere filling all the nooks and crannies of the room with an even light. They also include a large shade you can attach to the light to limit the spread, similarly to barn doors. There are lots of velcro attach points all around the globe so you should be able to get whatever blocking effect you want, including covering the globe all the way around so the light only goes straight down.

This is one nice adapter for your light. This is a professional way to create better lighting for photography or while shooting video. The quality is top notch and it’s super fast and easy to setup. This even comes in a nice case for storage. There is a shade cover they include that helps with isolating the light on the object your focusing on. Regardless if your a professional or novice this is an addition to your camera setup you should really think about getting. I would definitely recommend.

What an amazing product this is compared to the competitors in the market. I havent seen such easy way to set up a lantern softbox in the market. Just get this whoever is looking to buy a lantern, dont look for other products. I have been ordering 4/5 different softboxes now but this one just beats the hell out of everyone. Definitely 10 star rating.

This is a big improvement over my umbrellas. The light is soft and complements my subject. I find it a better light source modifier than umbrellas which can cast shadows. Recommended.

Works well with a proper light for portraits

Just as fast to setup as an umbrella - push, click in place, put on the mount. Done. Lantern lights are amazing lighting modifiers - even, diffuse light, quick setup and take-down. This version by SmallRig is pro-quality all the way. The ribs are supported along their entire length - not just with loops. Everything is heavy duty and well made. Another thing I love about these lights is that can also be a prop - they look so different that they blend in. Put them high up for indirect downlighting , down for uplighting - almost anywhere. Its a versatile light.

I use this lantern for product photography and I am very pleased with the soft light that delivers.

This light diffuser is well built and very easy to deploy: push down on the unit and watch through the round light mount ring as you hook the central looping brace to the two large, flat hooks at the bottom of the unit. The manual says this takes three seconds, which is about right.

It’s light and easy to use.
