Not very tech savvy and this is the first fancy device to turn things on with my phone, electric outlet wise and I have to admit that I am pretty pleased. It doesnt feel bulletproof as its plastic and cheap. However, it works well and does the job. The only complaint I would have is that the hole in the back that you would mount to is too small for most screw heads and I had to file down a screw head to make it work. With that being said, I would purchase it again, but if you are not capable of taking a 16th inch off of a screw head or drilling a little bit bigger of a hole to accommodate the screw, then maybe you should stay away from it. But it works pretty good with minor modification.

Was looking for an outlet that would work with Alexa to turn on and off my backyard outdoor flood lights for when I would take my dogs out to go to the bathroom. It was very easy to set up and so far hasnt given me any problems connecting to Alexa even though this switch is plugged into the outlet in the garage behind my home and the router is located in the front of my house. I havent used the timer function and cannot really speak to its waterproofing as it is inside a covered garage but the device is very sturdy and comes with quality covers that I have no doubt would keep out any water that would threaten the electronics.

it was so easy to plug in and connect with the app. now we turn our outside lights on and off with Alexa and use dusk to dawn feature. Easy to set up, easy to use, and it just works.

This thing is pretty amazing. You can monitor the cost and control everything from your smartphone. Using it on my mining rig and considering getting another for my outside shed, would be nice to be able to turn it on in the winter remotely to give it time to warm up before I go out there. So cool, very useful device.

After spending hours and becoming extremely frustrated with the first outdoor smart plug I ordered on Amazon (different brand), I finally gave up, put it back in the box, and ordered this one. Within literally 5 minutes, I was connected to my patio lights, and Alexa was turning them on and off. The app for this plug walks you through the entire setup process, including the Alexa process, in very plain, simple steps (and in real English). The other plug I ordered previously said it was compatible with Alexa, but sent you in a circle jumping through hoops that eventually ended back where I started: with a smart plug that was so dumb it couldnt even turn itself on with its own app. If you want an easy-to-install, Alexa-compatible outdoor smart plug, this is the one. Its been set up and plugged into my patio lights for over a week now, and we turn them on and off by voice command every evening. They have never failed to respond to the first request.

This plug is a fantastic idea. One can easily control each of two plugs independently, and also put each plug on a unique schedule. BUT, it is very difficult to connect this to WIFI. A 2.4 Ghz WIFI connection is required as will all of these smart plugs I have found. However, in order for me to connect this plug, I had to stop using a VPN and also had to manually prevent my WIFI router from using its 5 Ggz connection at all! Even then, this plug still disconnected from the app every few days. I decided it was worth it to try another plug and Ive not been happier. I purchased from Amazon one of these plugs with over 28K reviews. There was not a single issue. I could use my VPN and also allow my router to supply 5 Ghz connections (with the 2.4 Ghz connection still required for this plug).

I Just got the package and read all good Quick Guide manual and took me about 10 to 15 mins to setup, configure with 2.4Ghz WIFI (NOT 5GHZ wifi!!) with DHCP. I setup 2 outlet for my Big Bug Zapper and Backyard Xmas tree Light (all year around) which I have real Christmas tree outside!!.. Bug Zapper is Manually on/off.. The Xmas Tree is automatically on and off by timer! It really worth it.. Note!! Make sure you have good signal WIFI on 2.4ghz WIFI.. $30 is well worth it. It works Alexa or Google Home 100%
