I’ve tried many others. This is the best with or without makeup

I tried Smashbox Photo Finish Oil Free Primer recently in a trial size and was amazed at how well it worked. Its a great base for BB cream or foundation, and I can really tell a difference in the look. I have very oily skin, and I notice a difference in control when using this item, along with the Smashbox BB Cream and Halo Hydrating Powder, versus many other items I have tried. I do not need to blot as early or as often. There is a slight petrol smell to the product - I noticed this in the original trial size, and the same in the larger version - but it dissipates quickly. This item is pricier than other cosmetics Ive used, but Im pleased with the result.

As a primer this does a very good job and the bottle had lasted me a really, really long time. Definitely makes the face matte in appearance and somewhat blurs pores. I often just put this over clean skin to go out without foundation. The only negative is that it doesn’t make a very good eye primer for me, I prefer to just have my primers be all in one. It’s a little too clear and too thin to be a good eyeshadow base.

This is by far the best product for super oily skin - great in winter and even better in summer. Worth the price

I started using mineral makeup and had a sample of this primer. Wow, how did I makeup before? Im not sure where the notion that primer is supposed to mysteriosuly make pores disappear or shrink, or generally fix flaws that you know, are meant to be covered by makeup, but for what a primer is meant to do, this does it and well. My makeup stays longer and falls smoother on my face and it is instantly mattifying. I have combination, super sensitive skin and this doesnt irritate a thing. When I apply my stuff the places Id rather be covered get covered, I use less, and they stay covered much longer than if Id applied the makeup alone. Will be a staple in my kit from now on.

Always loved this product, it is and has always been unreasonably priced but so are most cosmetic products. It functions as expected.

I honestly wanted to love this stuff. Ive been seeing the product in my local Ulta for years, wanting so badly to try it on my terribly oily, poorly textured skin. Everyone seems to recommend it, said Id love it and it would change my make-up loving life forever. I put off purchasing it all these years because its so expensive...and I knew that even if I loved it, I cant see myself committing to pay that much on a regular basis every time it ran out. But, I finally broke down and purchased it on Amazon since I have Amazon Prime. And uh...yeah, I dont get it. I mean, sure, it makes my face FEEL good...but as far as the aesthetics of it...its just not there for me. It doesnt keep my make-up on any longer than any other primer...in fact, I dont think this keeps it on nearly as long as E.L.Fs $5 primer for me. It doesnt mask my pores any more than anything else either. So, for the price, theres no way I can give this any more than just 3 stars. Sorry, make-up fanatics...its not for everyone after all.

I like to mix up the products I use and try new things but I always find myself coming back to this primer, it’s smooths my skin and makes my foundation look poreless, it’s more in the prestige side but it’s worth the price

Leaves your skin feeling soft and makes the makeup look so much better. A little goes a long way so it will last for a while too
