I’m not sure if this device was made for someone in the northern states, but it was definitely not made for someone in the southern states. I live in Texas so the heat is really intense. This portable AC did nothing. It felt like an extremely low hot fan even after the water and everything that I did nothing helped it did not work.

I love this tray because it is so cute and you could give this as a gift. Everyone that comes to my house and sees this compliments it. The tray does what it is intended to do. Its a great size and sturdy. I do recommend it.
